Post pictures of your gates and fences!

OK I will admit I am a gate and fenceaholic. I am always looking at a gates and fences trying to get better ideas. How about posting some pics so that we share in the joy of a pefectly balanced gate swinging effortlessly in the wind! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Seriously I would enjoy seeing some other pics. These pics are of a temporary gate and elec. fence surrounding a 10 acre lot for my house within my ranch. It's primary purpose is to keep the cows off the front porch till I get around to installing a more permanent field wire fence and cattle guard in a few years. The fence controller and 12v battery are mounted inside the wooden box for a little weather protection. Nothing fancy here really, just plain old farm engineering...

Welcome to Tractorbynet. We're getting more Texans all the time. And your fence and gate look good. If you have been reading TBN in the past, you probably know we have a member, wroughtn harv, who is in the business of building fences and gates and does some beautiful work. I'm scheduled to do one you might like the end of this month. A couple of gates and some ten foot high fence panels between brick columns. What makes it interesting is the material. It's one of the South American ironwoods.

One of the prettiest gates in Texas is next door to the Southfork Ranch of Dallas, the television show fame. It's called "breakout". Texas Don took a picture of it and it's in the thread, ATV Bridge, Projects. I wish I could have claimed that one. But a real artist beat me to it.

Like others here say, for sure, wroughtn harv is the fence/gate specialiest here on tbn. You will are likely to learn a lot from harv as well as some others can come up with good ideas too.

I think, this will not be your last trip to tbn.

I am about to finish up a pasture gate that some on tbn helped me with. It works on the order of this gate, with some ideas from tbn & maybe one of my own.

Gave the wife a demo of its operation this afternoon. Looks like it is something I will get to enjoy as long as I get to live here.

When I get everything to my liking, I will try to post some pictures. Shouldn't be long now. (I hope).

One day I will attempt to make a new gate. I like the way the art of the horses makes the two gates look seamless.)
