Does anyone here have a post pounder/driver? Mainly the type used for driving wood posts into the ground?

I would be interested in what brand you have and whether you are happy with it or not. I have about 1000 posts to put in the ground and am tired or augering and backfilling.

I have a PTO drive Danuser. I use it quite a bit every year and really like it. If you drive steel post, pipe or T-posts be sure to get the guide to go over them so the post doesn't jump out and hit you in the face or break an arm.

I'm in the same boat as you are. Best price I have gotten so far is on the worksaver HPD-20. I'll be interested in the replies.

I have a Shaver and love it. I've put in thousands of posts with it and no problems at all. I can put in a post in a couple minutes with it.

They sure are a great back saver. Around here we sttart with a 7'x6" dia white cedar post. Don't even have to sharpen then the driver with pound them right in.
