I picked this up the other day. It has what I believe is the global/euro attachment plate. I have the ssqa on my tractor. Do I cut/grind this off and weld a couple pieces on to match my tractor or build something to adapt? image.jpegimage.jpeg
I've looked at a couple of different commercially built adapters but they are pricey and would pretty much cancel out the smoking deal I got on this thing. Anyone built an adapter of this type?

I would cut off the top tabs and the bottom mounts and weld on a ssqa plate. Nice looking attachment!

Ya. A SSQA plate is around $150 or so. If you can cut off any protrusions on the back & have a flat spot(s) to weld on the SSQA plate, it should be easy. Assuming you have cutting & welding gear.

Make sure that you check the angle of the SSQA plate when you weld it. I've heard that welding an SSQA plate to Global designed implements can result in the wrong angle (front tipped up) compared to what it should be. Make sure that the tilt down will still be enough to engage the lowest part of the post/stump.

I just purchased a Danuser Intimidator, and it is a fantastic piece of equipment. But, I found that on tough posts, trees, and brush they pulled better when I angled the blades at a down angle, set the 'butt' on the ground, and rocked the front up rather than lift the arms. The leverage is much better without causing undue stress on the arms. But, if you can't angle either up or down enough, because of the angle of the welded plate, you won't be able to do this maneuver and therefore be unable to pull some things or cause significantly more stress on your FEL than necessary. I've heard you can usually rect the issue beforehand by insuring the angle is correct.
