Potential Danuser Auger Purchase

They used to offer an attachment that fastened to the gearbox and created a 3-4ft long handle sticking out the rear of the digger. It would be used for an assistant to guide the bit for a precision dig. I looked on their site and it isn't offered anymore. Probably some OSHA safety violation. In my redneck area they were usually removed because they got in the way if you were backing up against something to dig a hole. The bit is just guided by kicking it around if needed. Not with the auger turning of course. Horror stories about that.

They were a huge safety hazard, all manufacturers have removed them. If you need more downforce, adding it hydraulically is the safe way to go.

My apologies... I had no idea that auger was $3200 new... you did get a great deal. Even if you rebuild and paint it you're in it for 1/3 the price new!

Good deal. I have the F-8 and it's the best on the market for its class (tractor). As you know it will soon a 30" auger. I think TSC Max is 18" or 24". Not that you'll pickup a hefty auger that size but knowing it's built that well is nice.

I picked mine up and the yoke was a tad lose. It's still been working just fine and dandy and has "paid for itself) over and again.

With that alas it's also nice knowing parts are still available which I will do eventually. If you go to their website and throw in your serial number, you can see which upgrade parts to get to make it safe (PTO shaft cover). M
There is a thread on here of a guy who cleaned his up. Looks great !

As stated, this tool should outlast you and your tractor, all while keeping its value ...

It's one of those tools that just sits around collecting dust, but when it's needed, it's amazing!

Nice to just throwing posts in, pull them and fill them with dirt, drill a new hole whenever you want in just minutes. The hardest part is hooking the thing up.

It's all good man. I'm just glad I didn't take my boss up on the nice gesture 6 months ago. I think this one was just waiting for me. :)

I have a very generous boss. I would rather him do things like this than give my a bonus in my check, as my wife probably would let me spend it anything I please. Lol!

Thanks a lot for sharing your input/experience with this model. I am super excited to get it home and put it to work. I'm really hopefully that the added weight this thing has over the normal offerings will make much easier to dig in my hard soil without resorting to standing (Lol!) on it. Worse case scenario, I have to fab up some way to add barbell plates to it like I did to my Ford 2600. :)

Once you use hydraulicly driven auger mounted on a front end loader bucket. You won't want to go back to a three point hitch, pto unit.

Not fortunate enough to have a front end loader yet. I'm sure I'll feel that way once/if I ever obtain one.

I just like the fact that I got such a stout piece of old equipment for a decent price and at the same time helped my neighbor out. I told him he can borrow it anytime he has a need to. That is what it's all about in my book.
