Thanks but I don't think at my age I'll be racing saws. Heck I can hardly afford gas to go to town anymore. :)

I can go clean all this pic and race talk crap with you up out of your thread. So we get back to your 3400 problems if you want?

Yep racing was very costly and time consuming. I only tried it 4 years but had fun, it just got old with travel and monotonous of races every year.

Could start your own Ga backwoods bowsaw racing competition. :D

Well I would like it fixed right but can live with the tie wrap for now as in it's going to get colder soon and main concern now is getting up wood. Lost a number of smaller oaks during summer and although it's tough on the blade they are seasoned about perfect for burning in my old coal stove. Ask me about that Atlanta Stove Co jewel that I picked up at the landfill two years back for free. It'll keep my living family room at 80 degrees if you like in the coldest weather GA has to offer. Check out my thread in Massey Ferguson on the 135. (Nother project)

I just checked the parts saw out. The throttle lock worked perfect.

Opened it up to see what you were talking about.

I went ahead and pulled the 2 plastic black parts, the trigger, locking part, 2 metal bushings, throttle lock spring. This one is missing the trigger spring. Least I didnt see it pulling apart.:ashamed:

Do you have both springs in yours?

Some new parts are available still.

Trigger bushing $2
Throttle lock bushing $2
throttle lock spring $1
trigger spring $1

trigger NLA = no longer available new
throttle lock NLA

Nope, there is only one spring for the longer throttle bar on the top. Didn't see or look for another spring and I was real cautious when I pulled the handle apart. So your's works without the trigger spring?

Just got back from barn, took my handle apart again and confirmed only one spring for throttle bar. Parts breakdown shows that trigger spring as real small and unless the screw goes trough the center, I can't see how it would work and apply pressure to keep the two pieces locked togeather. I guess it would be best for me to order both busings and the trigger spring and see if that will work.

PS: Thanks a million for going to the trouble to take your handle apart. Like you said, it's hard to describe how the two parts lock togeather.

There is no trigger spring on mine that I could find when looked for it today and it worked like it was suppose to, the throttle locked.

Probably different models but going to order one anyway. I've got it cranking pretty good off the ground, but I just get frustrated by some stupid little thing like this that I can't make work right.
Thanks again
