pouring concrete in pole building

/ pouring concrete in pole building #31
I poored a 40X40 slab for my motorhome. I paid for the concrete myself and hired the labor out. It was an individual that has dood a lot of concrete work. The labor included leveling, tying the rebar, working the concrete. I payed for all materials instead of having them bid the entire job. Labor was about $1000. Money well spent and a very good job. I would never try to do this much concrete myself with 100 friends.

-now wait a minute, if its allright to use simpson strongties to anchor a polebarn to the concrete slab, then why cant i use the slab to anchor mine down? I live in a double wide mobil home, now, when they put it up, they dug a 1' deep trench around the perimeter of it, poured cement in it and stuck those tie downs in the cement, when it was dry, they tied the home to those things they stuck down in the cement, now, thats NOT much cement to hold this whole building down, but apparently it does good enough, so, i was thinking, what if i dug out around those posts and poured a concrete collar around them, i know that would keep them from pushing in or out from the wind against the walls, but would it help any against the uplift? Now, i dont need to do this overkill, as long as it will withstand high winds like the house, i will be fine, i dont expect it to withstand a tornado because nothing else around will anyways..lol..would the concrete around the posts and then the slab be sufficient? i found someone to do the slab for 720.00 labor, concrete at 600.00, so 1300.00 total, but this anchoring crap is really getting to me..
