I have a Westendorf loader on my John Deere 5420 and have been using it with the hydraulic hoses plugged into one of my rear set of SCVs and the control tied back.

Yesterday I installed a JD Power Beyond motor control and coupler kit. I was expecting to be able to use BOTH the loader and the rear 3pt hitch at the same time (moving bales, etc.) when the Power Beyond is turned on. Here is the rub...I can use the lift only when the Power Beyond is turned off, and the front thus turned off, OR the Power Beyond is turned on to make the front end work - and the lift is thus turned off.

Is there a way to make BOTH front AND back work at the same time? This way isn't any better than tying the SCV control back. It had the same result. The Power Beyond kit just ends up being an expensive bungee cord.

Hydraulics:
Type: open center
Capacity: 10 gal [37.9 L]
11.5 gal [43.5 L] (PowrReverser)
Pressure: 2800 psi [193.1 bar]
Valves: 2 to 3
Pump flow: 15.9 gpm [60.2 lpm]
Steering flow: 6.6 gpm [25.0 lpm]
Steering press.: 1900 psi [131.0 bar]

Hyd flow in an open center hyd system is in series, with fluid passing through all valves.

If the first valve upstream uses all the pump flow, then there will be no fluid left for anything else, as all the flow is now passing through the OUT port. for that moment in time.

If you only use half lever on the first valve, then about half flow will pass downstream to the next valve.

Most people don't use two valves at the same time, as the hyd operation using a cyl is sometimes fast, like a few seconds.

So then things like using a loader and grapple is not that big a deal.

You should know that using a valve downstream could cause back pressure and affect the valves upstream. Back pressure takes away from pumps potential pressure.

Can you explain how that JD Power Beyond motor control and coupler kit is supposed to work.

Is it solenoid operated like a 3rd function?

It has an electric solenoid that is switched. I see the Power Beyond valve has a metering lever that I'll play with after church today, I may be able to reduce the flow to the FEL and get the lift to work too.

Thanks for the help.
