Power Beyond on Kubota L3200

BukitCase has given you some data.

Here is some data on your Energy valve, and I don't think it should be used in a series circuit, as most log splitter valves are used as the only or last valve in a hyd circuit. If inserted in the front or middle of a hyd circuit, it would have to withstand the pumps full pressure on the OUT port should a valve downstream go into relief.

Hydraulic Directional Control Valves by Energy® Manufacturing Company, Inc.

Using a 3rd function valve, all ports are high pressure, and the valve can be inserted anywhere in the series circuit.

The diverter/selector valve is a valve that can be mounted up front on the cross bar, using sort hoses and then some wiring is required. Default mode is bucket as BukitCase has said.

I agree JJ, the energy valve will be returned. I just need to locate a 3rd function valve. Then get it ordered.

Thanks

JJ, I looked at those before I bought two of the ones I linked - by the time you bought the subplate, the price was same as mine, BUT mine have a default mode - According to the description, you need TWO hirshman connectors and need to apply 12V to EITHER side to get the valve to switch. Also, when used for a grapple type application, there would need to be power applied AT ALL TIMES regardless of which way you want it switched.

For my applications, this isn't as practical, (you would need either a SPDT switch with spring loading, or ??!?)

Although in some instances I can see a benefit... Steve

The spring centered solenoid valve that I posted would only have to have a momentary on-off-on spring centered switch and the grapple would operate close -off- open.

Don't know if he wants a diverter type valve or a 3rd function valve.

However a 3rd function will take all pump flow, whereas the diverter will allow one to feather the grapple.

However the 3rd function valve can be installed just about anywhere in the series path..

Cost is usually the deciding factor in a lot of things, second to functionally.

Well the spool valve (above) was the wrong one, J_J enlightened me on the type I needed. Kenmac gave me this link in another thread; " https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.a...name=hydraulic "

Meanwhile I made a mount; bracket.jpg

Have one hose with a bad crimp that leaks. Also a possible fitting leak, and the plan is to have it all working by Friday. Will post more pics at that time.

Talk about a learning experience on hydraulics. It's worth the savings.

Rayster, I'm a little late to reply here, but I went the same basic way that I think your going and just simply added a Prince valve next to the FEL valve. Simple, quick, dirty and works well. (L3400)

Yeah Steve, that is exactly what I have done. My quick disconnects are on the grapple. So that if I have a rear attachment I can just reroute my hoses to the back with ease.

Thanks for the pictures.

Rayster. I had a need for a rear remote and went this route.

I had thought that if I needed a FEL remote then I would just run a pair of hoses to the front off of the ROPS mounted couplers. Then I built a grapple and decided that it wasnt worth the effort messing around with a pair of long hoses so I added the extra valve next to the loader valve.
If you get some sort of rear attachment that needs hydraulic power then you might find that adding a rear remote (or two) is far better then messing with some long hoses. Just my .02 cents. Post some pictures when your done, I'd like to see how you did yours.
