Thanks in advance for anyone's time!
I have a Kubota M4900 with Bush Hog M346 loader. My hydraulic line from the PB port to the rear auxiliary remotes is leaking. When I removed the PB plug, it was quite long and contained two O rings. I need to mow my pasture and was wondering if I could just plug the PB port or do I have to "plug the PB plug"; if that makes sense. In other words do I have to remove the hose from the PB outlet plug, put a plug where the hose was and leave it in the valve or can I just plug the outlet, removing the PB adapter completely.

Why not just replace the o-rings and re-install the PBY plug.

Exactly.

If I am understanding question, then the answer is no you cannot simply "plug" the PB port as that will block the hydraulic flow from the pump and may cause the fluid to overheat or worse...

So if you don't have any remotes that would be hooked up to the power beyond port on the loader control valve, it would still have a hose connected to this PB plug? What would this hose be connected to on the other end? OR, do you have to put a plug in the opening of the PB plug and remove the hose assembly?

If you remove the PB plug, and plug the port, you then cause all fluid to flow through the OUT port, which is how they do it using that valve as the last valve.

So now you have no fluid for the 3pt.

You could theoretically use the tractor with no 3pt and drag the brush hog on the wheels all day.

Why, you say, because all the pump fluid is now passing through the OUT port to tank, therefore depriving the 3pt of any fluid.

The main purpose of the PB adapter is to separate the valve galleries so the main flow will pass downstream and all cyl fluid goes out the OUT port.

The hose usually feeds the 3PH on most machines, if you follow it-it probably connects to the tranny case near the 3PH/Rockshaft valve.

You can't use the PB port with a hose in it with out the adapter as the fluid will go to the path of least resistance, and that is probably to tank.

If you do connect the hose to the 3pt, and then activate the valve, the fluid will just flow through the OUT port to tank.

Some people have actually ran the OUT hose to the 3pt, but they are taking a chance of back pressure damaging the valve port which has a limit of about 500 psi.

Where is the leak?

Is it a steel line?

Pictures would help.

Can you not go to some place like NAPA or hyd shop and have them make you a hose in about 30 min.
