Does anyone have a power broom for their Power Trac and if so how does it work for removing light snow and also for removing gravel from grass along driveway. I have considered getting one if they would work but they are expensive for just occasional use.

I bought a skid steer power broom without wheels for a couple of projects. The prime one was to clean clay off of the asphalt driveway after construction. That it did, though it was a bit "pat your head while rubbing your tummy" because the driveway curves, has a primary slope and cross slope all of which change, all of which cause the contact surface and angle to change. Still, it got the clay off, making the driveway safe to walk on, but it was like being in a clay dust sand storm doing it. The price was less than what a local rental would have cost, so it was a small win.

I had thought we might use it for some other uses, one of which was moving gravel to de-dust and clean the pea gravel in an arena, but again, I didn't really find its sweet spot. Having the front wheels of the PT version would have helped some, but the lack of planar surfaces and the enormous amount of clay dust when using it here were the dealbreakers for me. If you were closer, I'd say come by to try it out. I will say that between the weight and the distance away from the Q/A plate, it is right at the limit of what a 1445 can move. Wheels would help a lot.

All the best,

Peter

I have one that came with my tractor. I have never used it but you are welcome to stop by and try it or borrow it for a few weeks since we have the same attachment plate.

Thanks for the offer Ken but you are a little too far and I would like one for my 422 and my 1845 has the 3 point attachment method for attachments

I bought one at an auction for my 425. $1,300. It came with a mini-steer quick attach plate wich was easy to modify to fit “Artie” It works great on light snow and clearing moss and detritus off our driveway.
