Power Flow Bagger for 100 series mowers

I have the power flow bagger on my x749 using the MC519 cart, the belt drive is very simple and quick to attach, maybe a minute to hang the blower on and hook up the belt. Installation isn't an issue for the powerflow section.

I like the 300R except for having the k46 tranny, like the fact that nothing is protruding out from either side of the deck and also like the short path for clippings. I bag about half the time and add the clippings to a large compost pile. When cooked down the compost will be redistributed on the lawn areas so not much being lost.

Are you able to tow a garden cart with x300r?

Yes you can tow a garden cart, or other attachments there is a hitch point on the machine, you just need to remove the bag.

I guess the K46 tranny is how you look at it,,,, the first 4yrs/300 hrs is on JD for warranty, after that its on the owner, if he doesnt uprade by then,,, though I would have liked to see a heavier tranny in the 300r it is what it is, and if the tranny heads south out of warranty there supposedly is a kit to upgrade the 46 to 58 specs, and if your willing/able to kick the almost 4k for one a tranny/tranny repair should be affordable, the 300r isnt for everyone, its what I would consider a "specialty" machine to be primarily used for mowing and bagging, I bought it for the trim both sides deck and the dedicated blower, I bag parts of my lawn every mow, I looked for similar type machines here in the states and the only one selling this type here that I could find is JD and only in the 300 series,, now in Europe every major brand has a similar model they are very common over there. The X300R gives away some of the "goodies" that you can put on the other versions/300 series models like a sunshade, cab, electric lift, rear mounted 5gal bucket to name a few, it just depends on what you want a machine to do,, but if you wouldnt bag frequently I dont see the point of spending the extra on the baggng features,, at that point I would spend the extra on a 320/340/500

It's to bad John Deere doesn't offer a X300R style machine in the X500 and X700 series.

Imagine having the X300R but with a much better transaxle, and larger 54 inch deck. Considering you can trim around obstacles on both sides, I bet it would be a hit with landscapers.

Yes an X500 series with a 48" deck would have been more desireable but they just dont exist so this 300R will have to do. I dont have many obstacles to contend with but I like to do alot of back and forth mowing and even if Im not bagging the cut grass dosent get blown into the uncut area. After using mine for 2 seasons and 80+hrs Im not really concerned with the transmission, its plenty strong and the machine will run out of traction on a hill before any kind of stalling occurs, the fix and upgrade if necessary arent that pricey and even if I have to put a new tranny in it after a few years the features of the machine justify the possible issue for me.

You are right about that. I suspect the issue with the rear blower is getting ducted past a larger transaxle, but with some design changes it should be doable.
I would love to have a 300R design with a better transmission.

My X540 has a 48" deck. I bought in early may '12. The combination of the best engine, K72 trans, and the smaller deck makes it a real beast. It can mow down a small forest without breaking a sweat.
