I have a 4710 with ~70 hrs. Dug a hole for my daughter to play in - seemed to works fine. Went back several hours later to fill the hole and noticed that the hoe seemed to have lost power. Before, the hoe would pick the back of the tractor off the ground, now it tries but no-go.

Any suggestions?

First blush...

Check fluid level, loader flat on ground and hoe folded for transport, on a level surface.

Hope you get er goin'!!

Fluid level is okay.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Come-on guys, 80 plus hits and only 1 suggestion /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Either I'm the first to have this problem or the problem is in my head /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I know the hoe could move the tractor around before, did it when I was learning, because I was thinking it was a good thing I opted for the heavier 4710. Tell me I'm not crazy!

Check the relief valve. Could be stuck open.

Since it is new, I would let the dealer check it out. It should be a warranty repair.

I assume you did not close the rockshaft rate of drop control. Check all the hydraulic controls on the tractor to make sure they are all centered. My stabilizer controls sometimes stick and cause the BH to loose power. They put very cheap hoses on my Deere BH so make sure you do not have a leaking hose. Half of mine developed leaks early on. Rather that let the dealer replace them with more cheap hoses I had a hydraulic shop make me up some good hoses. I also got better quality hose protectors from the hydraulic shop. I prefered to spend the money than have the BH break down in the middle of a job.

I have also noticed a "gurgle" sound at times when operating the BH. Could this be a clue to the problem (although it seemed to work normally before with sound).

Also, will your BH pick the back tires of your tractor off the ground?

Air in the system somewhere? Are you running at the same engine rpm?

I don't know if the rockshaft drop control plays into it but I had a kid-induced problem last year. Took my hoe off, put the tph arms back on but couldn't get the thing to drop. I was sure I did something to ruin my tractor but it turns out the kids were playing on it and turned the drop knob all the way in /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
