Power Outage in the Northeast

That was pretty scary the blackout in the Northeast. I live south of Buffalo NY and the power was out for quite a while in still is in most parts. That was one massive blackout and hopefully everyone it affected made out okay........

Yep, the power is out all over southeast Michigan. They plan to provide estimates for restoration on Friday morning. We are lucky enough to be in one of the very small isolated pockets that still has power, though we have had some flickering and brownouts.

O yeah, my generator is fueled and ready to go. Nothing like being prepared!

Power was out for 6 hours but I am back on here in Orange County, NY. Others are not so lucky.

JOHN; i live in the eden area, but work in the city, many parts of the city were out, driving home tonight there were stretches that had no power then some that did . my little piece of heaven did not lose power at all. very strange the way that works /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I lost it till about 8pm. Not to bad, got out of work early, got the lawn mowed, I kind of liked it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifGlad it was not out longer though.

What was the cause? I heard Grey Davis was visiting you guys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Noticed you guys generate a whole bunch of power with those smoke stack type generators. What are those, coal fuel generators? I have seen one in Utah, we don't seem to use those out here much. Rat...

We lost power for 10 seconds.............all during those L-O-N-G 10 seconds, my wife was getting this awful stare from me. She hasn't released the funds for the generator just yet. 30 miles to the north of us multiple counties lost power for several hours.

I thought it was kind of strange as we had a couple of flickers and that was it. Then we're hearing about everyone being out in NY but it missed us! Right here within 15 miles of the exact center of the state! There was power out within a few miles of us as the calls were coming in to rent generators.
