Power pack build

possibly check with a hydraulic distributor that builds systems in your area. They could provide the expertise to make your system meat your requirements Vs I have a pile of components and hope they work.

I built mine. 20 gal per min pump, 25 gal tank, return filter, pressure relief, pressure gage, hoses, 3pt hitch frame ( had custom built). Will find pictures tomorrow most all parts were from Surplus Center.

1st find out the GPM and pressure your blower requires. There are many ways to build a power pack. The cheapest is to use a high cube gear pump or a PTO pump [same basic thing] Most of them have a 2500psi limit. a pressure relief that will handle your GPM spec, a return line filter and tank. Looks like the link that oldnslo posted uses a rpm increaser to a inexpensive aluminum gear pump. Like I said, a bunch of different ways to do it. Mine will have a pto pump with a drive shaft so I don't have to fight the weight and hoses on the pump. This is just a general power pack. When I build my blower unit I will either go open loop piston units or closed loop hydrostat. Just because I have it all available and I can run smaller lines to the front of the tractor at higher pressure. CJ

Thanks for the interest and links.
Tractor only has a hydraulic pump capacity of 9.8 GPM. So a power pack is really my only option if I want to run hydraulic attachments. The PTO is rated at 38 hp.
I'm not at all experienced with hydraulics, so any pictures or parts lists anyone has for a build would certainly help me out. We have a Princes Auto discount retailer near by that should have most of the parts I would need.
Most of the blowers I've looked at require in the range of 21 GPM.
Luckily our winter has been more tropical than normal(thank you El Niño). We can still see the grass. Last year I think we had close to 4' of the white stuff by now. Hence my desire for a front mounted blower.

This is most of what I used. Still need fittings and hoses for pump tank connections and suction side.
