i remove the lines every spring, and install them again before winter. i dont use this setup in simmer time. if i were to leave it, id install another set of disconnects.

i dont have any front mount equipment except snowblower that require hydraulic power

That is an excellent setup, thanks for the photos!
Are you using 3/4" lines? Any oil cooler on that power pack?

3/4 interior diameter lines, flat faced couplers

I dont use a cooler as i do not do summer use. I only blow snow. Have done this for 10 years, and powerpack never gets hot. I use infrared heat gun to monitor tank. Use 20 wt hydraulic oil Per manufacturer recommendation. If used in summer, have to use cooler

That is the skid steer’s biggest appeal. Everything out front where it’s easier to see.

Are your 21gpm and below units using 3/4" connections in and out?
The 3 attachments we have are a plate compactor, auger and concrete drum mixer, all of which have 1/2" lines in and out. Will running 3/4" lines from the power pack to the attachments (I'd say about 20' of line once routed) help with flow and heat if their just bottlenecking at the pack and at the attachments?

Also, does your power pack have a case drain on it? (see below why I'm asking)

Yes the attachments have case drains already.
The power pack pump does not, because it's a PTO pump and not a motor, I can't seem to find any PTO hydraulic pump that has a case drain on it.

Most all gear and vane pumps and gear and vane motors have
case drain plugs in the neck of the pump or motor.

If they are using a geroller motor for a pump it would also have
a case drain plug in it.

The oil lines should be kept the same size as the attachments
to prevent cavitation.

You have to keep in mind that your attachments are going to
create heat and that heat needs to be dissipated/reduced with
the oil cooler since you have a small oil tank.

This is the main reason I suggested a separate power pack that
can be engine driven and the power pack can be moved with a
set of forks.

Did you ever finish this project? I'm looking to do the same on a 7060 and would like to see how it turned out for you, and what equipment you went with (the power unit).

Thanks!

Hi all,

Ordering a 3-pt power pack for my L6060 to run a few skid steer attachments...

Getting a 25gal, 21.2gpm unit from Green Hoe.
1. Does anyone have experience with this unit or company?
2. Why type of oil can I use in this? 25gal. is a LOT... their saying no oil cooler is needed because of the 25gal amount in the tank. These are regular Skid Steer attachments, so I'm not sure how the oil differs from our tractors?

Once this is mounted on the 3-pt quick attach...
3. Where is the best locations to run the 2 hydraulic lines so they don't get destroyed over the years all the way up to the FEL?
4. How long of hoses do we need?

Thanks again all!
Not familiar with the company first off.

Whatever they recommend for oil (hydraulic fluid) is what I'd use, they know better than you or anyone on here does. 25 gallons isn't all the much. I buy my hydraulic fluid in 55's actually. Between my 2 tractors plus make up fluid, I can use 55 gallons every change or every 2 years. My couplers always pee a bit of fluid every time I change implements and I change a lot, keeps the back of the tractors from rusting...lol

Far as hoses go, you need to measure what you require and go to a wholesaler-retailer like Motion Industries or Aerquip and have the make up what you require. One thing you need to do if you ever want to remove your loader is, terminate the hoses at the loader frame and add a set of pioneer male female disconnects so you can uncouple the hydraulic hoses if you want to remove the loader.

Exactly what I did but I ran my 3rd function to the loader cross frame so I could run my power angle snowplow which has a QD plate attached to the plow frame and I couple the hoses into one of my existing remotes.

Far as cooling, hydraulic fluid gets hot when worked and I've never seen a remote unit without an oil cooler and 12 volt fan on it. 25 gallons plus the unit will make a nice counterweight for the back end of your tractor which I hope is substantial.

My powerpack is ONLY used during winter for snow blower. Do not use a powered cooler. The cold weather cools it nicely. If i used it during summer, i would add a cooler. I use a 20 weight low viscosity hydraulic oil as per manufacturer. All lined are 3/4” with flat face couplers.
