( If you are purchasing high quality Amoco Premier or BP Supreme diesel fuels, you don't need any additives )

I am very aware of that. Read above, premium diesel is not easy to get in my area anymore. The local Amoco dealers tell me that they may need the PD tank for the new ULSD fuels at which point I may want an additive for my fuel. We still have Amoco at a few stations and the Sunoco rack blend at one chain of private stations. The point I was trying to make is that the rack blend should be similar to adding Power Service. When I drove a tanker the Amoco PD came from a seperate tank and there was no rack blending.

For best fuel storage > 6 months, keep the tank clean, keep it at the same constant temperature year round, and put a dessicant on the breather......

Every farmer I know is doing exactly that. They keep the fuel cozy warm in the cold of winter and the breather dry with special desiccant bags. Yeah right, not in this life. Come-on guys this is diesel fuel for tractors not Jet fuel. How many of you have had diesel go bad that were using Power Service in the storage tank? I'll bet not to many of you.

Lets put this myth to rest, somebody call the Myth Busters

Grey or white PS is for people trying to squeeze every last calorie out of their fuel.

I think most folks here are looking to make sure they are using high quality fuel in their tractor and avoid fuel degradation. I think grey or white PS isn't the right product. You can use it because everyone else is, or you can look at what the product does. It has a purpose, but it's not what I'm looking for.

We use our stored diesel fuel (BP Supreme) in all our diesel automobiles and trucks too, not just our four tractors.

REPEAT - For best fuel storage > 6 months, keep the tank clean, keep it at the same constant temperature year round (ie underground), and put a dessicant on the breather......

I called power service and asked about the storage question. They said unless you are letting fuel sit for longer than 6 months it was perfectly fine to add the p/s to your fuel tanks. They said it would degrade the fuel very little in that amount of time. According to them it would take at least a year for the fuel to degrade any appreciable amount due to the cetane enhancers. They said you would get microbial activity before you would get breakdown of the fuel due to the cetane enhancer.
