Both the FEL and the 3pt are very slow. So, you didn't shoot yourself in the foot.

Unfortunately, the exact model number isn't stamped on the side. So, I don't know for sure what GPM is provided to the PS. I emailed Rick (the guy I bought it from as well as the Orbital pump & cylinder) to ask him.

Never thought of just taking the hose off to test the dump port. I'll try that tomorrow.

As far as the 3pt valve, I did have to insert a headless plug inside of one of the ports to block an internal passage within the spool. I did try running a hose directly from the "O" port on that spool, directly over to the "I" port. the 3pt worked as usual. Of course, that took both the PS & the FEL out of the loop.

I think I just talked myself into another test.

1) I'll run a hose directly out of the Priority valve to the "I" port (bypassing the Relief and the FEL).
If the 3pt works good, then I know it's in the FEL, or the Relief valve.

If the 3pt works the way it should, then I'll run the hose from the relief to the "I" port (bypassing only the FEL). That will tell me if the problem was the FEL.

a. If the 3pt works good, then I know it's in the FEL, or the Relief valve.
b. if 3pt no good, then it's the Priority valve

a. If the 3pt works, then it was the FEL
b. If the 3pt on good, then it was the relief valve, or - just low flow out of the pump :(

thoughts?

All right now your doing some diagnosing. Let us know.

Doug

P.S. Looks like your enter button is stuttering.

I hate it when that happens:eek:

The conversion I found was:
1cc/min = .000264 gpm

so, 5 cc/min = .00132 gal/min

1800 RPM = 2.38 GPM
2500 RPM = 3.30 GPM

That doesn't look so good. I think I found why my F16 can't handle PS AND a FEL and a 3pt :(

Do you know that your pump and engine run at the same speed, 1 to 1 ratio.

DRL

Wait I just reread, don't you mean 5cc/ rev?

Was thinking about earlier posts and guess we were not thinking. With out the PB sleeve your 3pt will be very slow because most of the oil from the FEL will go to the tank. Without the sleeve the out port and the PB port are one and the same. The oil takes the path of least resistance.

I don't know anything for a fact. I am just assuming that's 5cc per engine rev. But, that's just a big UGLY guess.

That's what I figured before also. However, right now (until the PB sleeve comes in), The PB port is plugged, and the Out on the FEL goes into the "in" on the 3pt.

I realize that this is not a good solution per your earlier comments about pressures not intended for the "out" port seals, and hopefully my PB sleeve will come in very soon.

So, right now, the oil only has 1 place to go - that's into the "in" port on the 3pt.

That is true. Did you ever check you PR valve like we talked about?

Did you get the 5cc figure out of your tractor manual? If that is per revolution of the pump you need to know the ratio of the drive to the engine.
