Hi Tony,
Since I bought my tractor for pulling a Flail mover (future purchase), the backhoe will be stored most of the time. In order to prevent a repeat of this mishap I will install a short hydraulic hose and loop the two hydraulic ports.
The poor tracking stabilty at high speed I had reported may have been caused by the tires low pressure. Both front and rear tires were below 20 PSI. Since I filled the fronts at 50 and rears at 30 PSI.

However I didn't know that I needed to place the Double Acting Lever (A and B) located
on the right of the seat to the N (Neutral) position. This caused the hydraulic fluid to be forced through the relief
valve. The tractor was ran in this configuration for almost 20 minutes, and the hydraulic fluid overheated and
consequently warmed the steering valve assembly (up to 228 F).

Wow, 20 min on relief. I wonder how hot the fluid got at its hottest.

One of the 2 CK30s I bought new back in 2005 suffered failed implement pumps twice. I did the post-mortem
on the first pump and it had a failed seal plus a lot of signs of cavitation. My conclusion was that the
fluid probably suffered overheating, but I never found out the cause. The tractor is owned by a friend who
is very hard on the tractor. He does not have the detented factory AUX valve.

Anyway, Kioti changed from the OEM pump (Casappa) to another brand (Joyang), then again to some other
brand. Maybe back to Casappa? Sadly, they only supply seals for the original, it seems.

So, I rebuilt the Casappa and it seems to be working now, despite all the cavitation marks. Good thing I
had saved it after the first failure from 6-7 y ago.

So far the FEL, 3-P Hitch, and the power steering assist are all working OK, but I'm sure the high transmission oil temperature didn't help the seals. I will be replacing the transmission fluid and associated filters tomorrow. BTW I cannot open the filler port by hand. I don't like to force things open. Would like to know if the filler cap in a srew-on type or just push-pull type that can be wiggle out?
Thx.
