Every year the company I work for part time, provides me a pool of money to buy tools I need to maintain and repair their property and building. Last year I bought some Stihl products for grounds maintenance. This year I'm looking at power tools. I've always been impressed with Milwaukee but wanted opinions on what else I should consider. I have some DeWalt, and craftsman stuff, and not very impressed with the home versions. I am looking at commercial grade tools for this purchase.

DeWalt have all failed pretty quickly. Milwaukee is OK, I have some older ones that still work. Makita has been my favorite and what I've been buying whenever I need something new.

I've been out of the air tool repair/rebuild business for a lot of years now, but the finest air tools I ever found were naturally also very expensive. And of course the ones I worked on were usually very old, but pretty simple to properly rebuild. And they were American Made; Home - Sioux Tools

Been using Dewalt MAX lately. Was a big Milwaukee V-28 guy. Dewalt tools have been fantastic so far.
The Dewalt 60v 1/2 Impact gun best I ever owned and blows rusted nuts & bolts off my farm equipment with ease. Also been running their 7&1/4 worm drive 60v Circular saw. I just framed an entire building with it without plugging a corded saw in. Also Framed all studs, plates, joists, beams and rafters with my Dewalt framing gun. Only used my wheelbarrow compressor for roof deck sheathing and subfloor sheathing. I have a charger that works off accessory lighter socket in my truck that charges batteries with no electrical outlet needed.
I went all in and bought the chainsaw, hammer drill, grease gun and 4.5 mini grinder, too.
No regrets so far.

I have several Bosch, Dewalt, and Makita. I’ve never killed one of them with anything they should have survived and I use them semi commercially. By should have survived I knocked a gearbox out of a lower end Dewalt drill with a hole saw.

Makita is my preferred, battery powered, power tool 'make'... the range of 'skins' available is impressive. This includes chainsaws and mowers.

I found the opposite to be true and is the reason I got into the Dewalt line. I guess it’s been about 2 years since I switched but Makita didn’t make several pieces I wanted.
