No. Many USA Gehl dealers market an Avantage 700 lb. ROC articulated mini loader made in Finland by Avant. However Gehl in USA doesn't sell the entire product line made by Avant.

The Italian CSF SRL's MultiOne has heated cab options and hp range from 14 to 50 in gas and diesel models. They appear to only have a few USA dealers (now in New York), although they're looking to add regional dealers throughout US who would carry the entire CSF MultiOne line.

USA Gehl and Mustang dealers also sell newly-designed-for-2005 4-wheel-steer loaders, but their lightest model (7,000 lbs.) is well over 2,000 pounds heavier than the Bobcat Toolcat 5600 and is closer to Bobcat A300 AWS.

I had looked at Power Trac, Gehl, Avant, and CSF Multione options before getting my Bobcat Toolcat this summer.

Hrmmm. You know looking at that forest video, especially right near the end, I'd have to say I'm skeptical about the stability of that thing. They seem to cut away whenever it looks like the driver is having a bit of a time with it. I would bet that it is lighter than a PT and has a higher center of gravity, plus a smaller wheel base. It is pretty cute though.

Looking at the machine when it goes through the mud pit, I say to myself "I wish my mud was that shallow". Still, I think this could be a useful machine, but I would not trade my PT422 even for it. I think it's specialized for small estates maybe 1/16 to 1 acre. Usefull in Europe where lots are very small. Just my impressions. I would like to play with one.

In researching tractors I also ran across the Avant line. Gehl actually imports the model #520, an articulated tractor with a Kubota 20hp diesel and calls it an "AVANTAGE". It has hydraulic 4WD and, like Power-Trac, a proprietary quick-attach plate. While one of the Gehl dealers near me can get it, none of them had heard of it till I inquired. The only advantage I see is that Avant offers a wood chipper that runs from the hydraulics, something that I wish were available for Power-Trac. The down side of the Gehl AVANTAGE is that with comparable attachments -mini-hoe, flail mower, 4in1 bucket [there is no grapple bucket available] it costs over $30,000 compared to a Power-Trac #425 with minihoe, grapple bucket and brush hog at under $15,000 - and you still have to buy the headlights and ROPS on the Gehl. By the way, does anyone use a hydraulic chipper with the PT? If so who makes it?

Ingersoll makes hydraulic chippers for their tractors. You might want to search for some information from them.

I just bought an old MacKissic 3" chipper that I may eventually convert to run off the PT's hydraulics, but for now I've decided to leave it powered by its original Briggs. Then, I can use the PT to haul materials to it while it is being used. I'm quite happy with it. BTW, MacKissic is the original inventor of the consumer/homeowner chipper and still support 30+ year old equipment with parts...

You can buy 3-PT MacKissics or DRs in the 3.5" size for under $2000, or the 4.5" size for around $3000. For a few hundred $$ you could convert either one to run off the hydraulics with a QA plate and a hydraulic motor from Surplus Center (or equivalent).

Either brand would cost less than those designed for skidsteers. Also note that most hydraulic ones I've seen for skidsteers and such require a higher hydraulic flow than the smaller PTs can provide.

I PURCHASED A USED GEHL AL20DX A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. I USE IT WITH THE POWER TRAC 60'' FINISH MOWER, THE 48'' BRUSH MOWER AND
THE POWER TRAC BOX BLADE. IT HAS A 20 HP KUBOTA DIESEL. IT IS A VERY GOOD TRACTOR IN MANY RESPECTS. PLENTY OF POWER. EASY TO OPERATE. VERY DURABLE. IT CAME WITH THE BUCKET. I HAVE BEEN READING THIS FORUM FOR QUITE SOME TIME. MY DECISION WAS MADE PRIMARILY ON MY WISH FOR A TRACTOR WITH FRONT MOUNTED IMPLEMENTS. HAVEN'T REGRETED IT YET.
