Well after working on it today I don't think I have to sand it. I took the hose and sprayed off the entire deck and got a lot of the pulp off. There is still some but I don't think I will ever get it perfect. The deck boards are pretty good. The top rail, posts and spindles are O.K. but not great. The deck guy came over and looked and said he will lightly stain the top rail and the posts but not the spindles. I am anxious to see what the deck looks like when he applies the Behr honey cedar colored stain/sealer. He will test a small area first.
I think the next time I will do the job myself. I am finding that I am doing more and more myself instead of hiring it out. Just takes longer and I have to keep a lot of cold beverages around.
