Hello,
recently finished making hydraulic lines for using the 13 ton Powerhorse 3pt log splitter. Viewed a lot of the information previously available on this forum and looks like several folks had some rough experiences with dealers and local hose shops. Since I have more time than money I chased down parts to use on a 2305 Power Beyond QDC's used for 260 backhoe. Quick parts list is 3/8 X 1/2 fitting (2) 6 ft X 1/2" hoses with 3/8" NPT thread (2) and Hnv-38-NPT QDC coupler (Male/female) from Faster and a 1/2" male X 1/2" female pipe swivel 45 degrees for inflow side and teflon tape. All available at Northern except the HNV-38 which I purchased and they drop shipped from Motion Industries. Motion Industries Part number for the Faster brand HNV-38 was 00285506 and 00285630.. The Apache and Pioneer 3/8 QDC will not fit. Check the number on the couplings on your tractor before ordering but the PBY kit LVB24981 does not appear to cross reference with any information available from my dealer (JRE). Faster contact number is 800-231-2501 and ask for Landon. Total cost for both lines/couplings etc was just about $75. My understanding is different year 2305 may have a different brand of QDC. Cycle time on this splitter, on my 2305 seems to peak at 12 seconds, full lenth travel at about 1750... not faster at higher rpm. Works for me. Will rent to splint larger rounds. Hope this helps somebody. My apologies if this is "old" info. Thanks for all the other previous posts on this subject it helped alot......even the information from our Orange Brethren. :)

12 seconds with the 2305 is pretty good. I'm at almost 10 seconds with the 2320. Your 2305 may be beating it's gpm rating by a bit. Unless you get really big stuff to split, you may not need another splitter. I've been splitting some stuff in the 24 to 30" range and don't have a problem as long as I'm splitting first in the extend direction.

Did you route the hoses through the hole in the valve bracket? I did and it made a much neater installation than some others I've seen.

I routed the 1/4? inch hoses to the cylinder through the bracket but I like your idea. Going to use it a while. I don't like the paths available to the PBY couplings (on the ground up through 3 pt, in the side or over top link. Just got to figure out what I like. Do you have pics of your set up? I am sketching out a custom pallet that would let me rock the splitter on end for storage and double as stand for right height to hook up lifter arms. Another member replied he has hydraulic toplink so not as big an issue for him. How do you store and position for hook up?

Here is my installation. I now have a quick hitch with an adjustable top hook and it works OK. It's a little tight to get the hook into the splitter frame, but it's still easier than the direct 3 point hookup. I have a simple stand for the splitter made of 2x4s and 2x6s, on wheels. However, I like the idea of being able to tilt it. I'll have to think about that one.

Like the routing on the lines...real clean
Finished a first creation on storage pallet which doubles as a rack for elevating the hitch beams to 10 inches for hook up to lifter arms when pallet tilted 90 degrees. Very stable when splitter is upright and can still move the pallet with splitter attached with a small hand cart....the thing is pretty ugly but meets my needs. Working on a way to hook in the top link while still attached to the pallet. Makes moving, hook up and storage markedly easier. Got a $7 smoker grill cover which works great to cover up when in upright position.

Here's a few pic's of my simple log splitter storage stand, which is nothing more than some scrap wood in an X configuration screwed into a cheap HF dolly. Just something to consider while your thinking up ideas for storage.

Like the idea of routing both sets of hoses through the guide holes, but too late for me. Didn't think of that during set up. Oh well.

Here is a picture of my splitter setup... I removed the factory 3pt bracket and welded up a new bracket so I could attach it quickly using my JD quick hitch. Then I put pneumatic casters on it so I could roll it into storage easily Powerhorse Mod.jpg
