All my purchases involving implements with small gas motors have been the ones with Honda engines. For me the quick start on the 1st or 2nd pull of the rope has outweighed most of the other considerations. I now have Honda powered power washer, generator and leaf shredder.
Just saying.
All my small engines start 1st or 2nd pull, including a Tecumseh, Briggs Intek, Honda GC, Subaru, Onan (key start) and a no-name, likely Chinese, engine on a Poulan Pro generator I bought in an emergency for Hurricane Irene. I never leave gas in the carb unless I know I'll be using it again in a week or so, but no longer. Now how long they last is yet to be seen, but starting has not been an issue on any of them as long as you don't leave gas in the carb. If any of my engines come without a gas shut off, that's the first thing I add.
