Practice Removing Your FEL

I got double practice on mine... Last weekend was the first time I used the tractor and i wanted to see how everything worked and how it handled with and without the loader on.
I had it in my shop and was going over the manual and took it off with no issues. Time to try it out without the FEL now...that is the point that I remembered I had backed in!!
Hook it up turn around and repeat. It was easier the second time around too!!!

Now that...that was a senior moment!!!

Roy-
I agree with you 100% - I bush hog with my L3830 with the loader off and I put 220lb of suitcase weights on the front end of the bumper. This makes the tractor very stable and I can mow near fence lines without having a loader bucket and/or arms extended over my head. There is definitely a learning curve with removing the loader but if you keep at it, it gets easier and easier. I would strongly recommend front end weights to balance the bushhog on the rear ( my 5 ft woods is about 600lbs) - Mike

I had the same thing happen. Was a pretty good duh moment. I chickened out and just left it on. Needed to kill some time in a downpour, so I thought I'd play with it. It came off pretty good, never had the guts to disconnect the lines though. I use my loader nearly daily, and at this point don't own or have access to other implements. No need to have the loader off, but I agree with BP, probably a good thing to be able to do. I haven't driven my tractor without it. Would probably feel like a sports car.:laughing:

I'm guilty as charged...I've never had my FEL off and mow with my MMM weekly during season...I have some slope at the end of my field so I lower the bucket to almost ground height have never had the pucker factor kick in...I'd let a trained monkey do it, but they're outlawed here in Orygun.

Just took mine off for the first time. I didn't time it, but my gut says 3-4 min.

I have found that if you put a John Deere hat and sun glasses on them, no one pays much attention:)

No offense intended as I have a John Deere hat and sun glasses and no one pays any attention to me either.
