Preserving deck boards on a trailer

I agree, but the way your first post sounded it made me think they were just looking for something to either use it on or else they were going to dump it in a hole in the yard:eek:

Take care.:)

I've been using OOPS deck and siding stain from Home Depot for the hay wagon and flatbed trailer. At $5 a gallon, it's cheap, lasts for a few years and you don't have to worry about petroleum products dripping on the ground.
My neighbor farmer types use old engine oil on their fences and trailers. I disagree with this practice as the oil will eventually get into the ground and water.

Nope. About the worst I do with old oil is start brush piles in the winter. pint or so of oil on a cardboard box and another pint on the brush above the box. Lights quick and keeps burning long enough to get the snow melted and the wood burning. I'm not brave (stupid?) enough to burn brush unless there is a good snow pack. But a good snow pack covers the brush...

Looks good. Bet it will last a long time too. Wonder if after it sits in 100 deg. weather if it will smell? That might be a good thing, might keep the dogs from trying to mark it as theirs when they come by.
