I need to pressure wash my house, but I am confused with mixing of the detergents. The house wash I bought says to mix it 1:19 with water. This much I understand, but do I change this ratio if I let it siphon the detergent out of a bucket? Or do I siphon it directly at full strength.

The last time I used this set up for washing my car wash I siphoned it out of the bottle and used almost an entire bottle for one vehicle.. Way to strong.

Thanks for any ideas

siphoning at full strength would be next to impossible to get the correct ratio. I would mix it in a 5 gallon bucket & siphon from there. But then again, I would never pressure wash the house /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Different power washers inject chemicals at different rates. Mine injects at 7:1, so if the mixing rate on the chemical calls for 14:1, I dilute the chemical 50:50 with water. So now my unit is mixing at the correct ratio. Some units have an adjustable injection ratio, mine doesn't.

The instruction manual did not state the mix ratio, I had to call their help number and ask.

And don't forget that they usually only inject chemicals at the low pressure setting.

Thanks for the feedback.. I finally got an answer from Karcher and my system dilutes it at 18:1, close enough to 19:1 for government work I think.. I dont understand why they dont put that in the owners manual..

thanks

Glad that it might have helped.

I was investigating a unit with an adjustable injection rate, but realized that if it used a neddle valve or similar you'd never know what the rate was because you'd have no way to calibrate it.

A known fixed rate is better because you can mix your concentrate to get the end result you need.
