Went for a ride on the mower to go and ensure that the bottom of the garden was still there, mainly because I was bored.
Fortunately the bottom of the garden was still there, which is just aswell because it was 2 mins ago when I made the last trip to check (I was bored then too /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif).
Anyway, drove back up the garden, for the second time. Drove back down, naa, just kidding ya /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Parked the mower up on the slope to the shed, turn off engine, whack head on new brush cage as I get off, you know, the usual things......
Went in the shed to continue with welding the blade that Im making. Now this blade, making it out of metal with paint on it, as you weld pretty bad smoke comes off it, smells like the burning rubber, well actually kinda like buring paint really /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif. Pretty cloudy in the shed, went out for some air.
Now I KNEW I had parked the tractor outside, but it wasnt there /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Pretty sure I parked it there, must be the fumes screwing with the old vision thing, walked across, definately not there..... Hmmm. Didnt hear it start, cant be stolen, besides the fact that it is an impossibility to get onto it wtih out some sort of language when you smack your head on the brush cage. Walked around the lawn a bit (all on a slope), tripped on a wheelbarrow cos I wasnt looking for wheelbarrows in the middle of the lawn.
Crikey mate!, I say blinking stupidly, how did it get there /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Seems the mower had decided to get friendly with the bush at one side of the garden. And parked itself loving in it.

So the moral of this story, make sure you leave the mower in gear so it doesnt roll away when youre welding and producing fumes that could make you feel mad because you cant find your tractor when you KNOW you parked it there. well either that of fix the park brake so it works properly /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Maybe even you could weld painty metal not in a shed.

Actually, just dont get bored, because then you would have to drive your mower to teh bottom of your garden to check it was still there (twice) and therefore it would not be parked outside youre shed when youre welding painted metal and it wouldnt roll away leaving you feeling like a stoned teen because you cant find your mower when you KNEW you parked it there but it tisnt there any more.
And while were on the not getting bored thing, dont get bored because then you wont have to post about things that happened to you during the day that people dont really care about because you have nothing better to do (apart from eat cheese and crackers /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif).
Youre choice /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds like a relatively normal day to me, Mith. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif And there's certainly nothing wrong with cheese and crackers if you have the right beverage to go with them.

Mith; Know what you mean about being bored. Check out my thread about "Oddball loads" if you don't believe me. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Hey, I like extra sharp cheddar on club crackers! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is just a normal afternoon for here too! could not find the tractor the other day, had walked back from the back timber. Remembered hours later I had parked it by the pond. Had to walk back and get it. And my wife was worried about the excercise I would get after purchasing the tractor.

Nothing better than a nice Danish blue cheese with some walnuts and honey on top, all sitting on a Carrs table water cracker. . . the funny thing is nobody will kiss me after I eat blue cheese. I dunno why!?! But some wine from RonJHall sure washes food down very nicely.

As far as the rest of your day, well it sounds sort of like a normal day to me. I have 2 garages 150' away form each other with tools in both of them, seem like when I am working on something I always need a tool from the garage I am not in, walk over to get it and forget what I went there for, bring something back and forget why I did that, get tired and go back to the house not knowing why I went out in the first place.

Bob; That blue cheese sounds good, especially with Ron's wine. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I've been known to walk out to the truck and forget where I was supposed to go! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

John, I thought forgetting where you were going is a sign of old age /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif, only kidding /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Glad im not the only one thats bored, though your odball does look significantly like a boat, maybe thats just the fumes agin though /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Johan, I guess you have an excuse for losing your tractor, you have 63 acres! I have 2/3 acre to lose things on, admittadly I have lost things on my neighbors 12 acres too, never to be found again /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Gotta give you credit for losing an orange tractor though. Just as well you didnt go with JD eh? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mith-

Remember when I posted "I want some of what he has been drinking"? I guess it was what you have been breathing! You know, at least here in the states, some people would pay to breathe smoke from welding painted metal with the effects that you describe. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With regard to the cheese and crakers, the wife and I practically existed on Stilton cheese and fresh bread when we drove around Briton and Scotland. I would probably be 50 lbs heavier if that was easier to find in these parts.

Lastly, on a more serious note, is there any effects on your daily life from the recent bombings in London? Could be a good excuse for a vacation.

Cheers,
Bonehead
