Since I have the backhoe and will have that on most of the time is it worth getting the rim guard? Any real advantage having all that weight? Thanks

I never had a loaded tire tractor, after 5 tractors I can tell you without loaded tires on my 1758 I think I couldn't do the work I do as easily. Pushing snow and firewood chores provide for great stability and traction, I'd ballast them the backhoe will be removed some of the time right?

Yea. I was unsure if the rim guard plus the backhoe would be to much weight

wheel weight vs that rim guard stuff?

There are several options. Winter rated windshield washer fluid, an environmentally friendly antifreeze, or the rim guard.

Filling the tires with fluid will offer more weight than the wheel-weighs, and the rim guard appears to be the heaviest liquid option that won't freeze.

Thanks TSO for all the info. Price wise what does the rim guard cost? Also you don't think it will be to much weight with the backhoe?

I'm sorry I'm not sure on cost. I believe it would be under $500. I don't think that would be too much weight. Myself and "OnceAcop" both plow snow in high range HST with loaded tires. So I'm sure that regular tooling around with the BH would be fine.
