Hello all, I have been looking to buy a SCUT for a year now. My needs are FEL work, snow removal, brush hogging 5 acres, and a box blade to maintain a 125' driveway. I do not need a MMM I have a ZRT I use for that. My first questions is am I looking at the right machines for my needs. Next I am thinking about getting a FRT snow blower. I assume they are good for several inches of snow but how are they with an average few inches on a gravel driveway. The following is what I was quoted today.

B2320 FEL, FRT SNOW, LOADED TIRES FOR 20K TAX AND FIANCE CHARGES INCLUDED
BX2370 FEL, FRT SNOW, LOADED TIRES FOR 17.2K TAX AND FC INCLUDED

I also looked at a MF GC1705 same setup as above for 18.1k tax and fc charges but I am leaning toward the Kubotas due to price and the dealer is a little closer.

I look forward to any info and opinions.

Thank you

I would think that brush-hogging 5 acres is going to take a long time with either of those machines. How big is your brush hog? Is your terrain flat or do you have a lot of slopes to deal with? Snow blower on a gravel driveway could be problematic, with picking up and throwing stones.

For the work you outlined the B2320 would be the starting point IMO. Since you do not need a MMM, but a front mount snow blower is desired you still need a mid pto, so a B3200 would be better, if you want to run a 5' brush hog. If you want a 4' then the B2320 series would work. I'm sure some on the forum have tried a 5' brush hog with the Bxx20 series that will share their opinions.

If you wanted a rear mount snow blower and didn't need a mid pto then the Kubota B3300SU would be a pretty good size. But they are now coming out with a B3350SU with a pretty big price jump with the new engine requirements.

Did you check out the Massey 1526?
That would be a nice size for your listed chores if you want to keep the frame size small.

A lot depends on your grass type, how often you mow it, etc. But even with the variables, the B2320 is the better choice. You also have to factor in a belly armor system for any BX used in such a fashion and that ups your costs and mental concerns right off the bat.

We brush hog that much property with a B7510 and B2320 and they both work just fine. If you wish to "step up" to a large B3200 model, it wouldn't be a waste of time to look one over, but open your wallet a good bit farther. Again, so much depends on your grass type and mowing frequency.

The snow blower wouldn't be my choice for a couple of inches on a gravel driveway. If that's the norm for you I would use a blade, cheaper and less likely to cause damage. If you scrape too close with a blower you can sling rocks into things and break shear bolts etc. if you routinely get half a foot or more per storm then the blower might be a better choice.

I just bought a bx2370 with FEL & MMM for 14700 tax and finance included. Now take away the MMM+,- $2500 and your at 12200 OTD ... Can't imagine that snow blower on the front being $5k? I had a gravel driveway at my last place and a buddy with front blade on quad... I would say blade over snowblower on front.

Plow over snowblower on snow falls of only a few inches, especially if the snow is really wet and heavy. The snowblowers don't care much for slushy snow that isn't all that deep. I'd say for what your describing go for the plow or just use the FEL.

With my snow blower I don't even bother unless it is over 6". My driveway is gravel and it stays about an inch and a half above the ground as to not pick up rock. I just drive over it if it is less then 6".
