Well, I got it in the barn for $19,675. Only 3 options are LA703A loader, R4's, and folding ROPS. I really like the loader. It reminds me of a Woods design with no multiple links at the bucket end.

The only drawback with the LA703 direct linkage is that the bucket does not roll back very far. This is only an issue when carrying a heaping bucket full of loose material. You have to lift the booms kind of high to keep it level. Other than that, I agree and I think there would be a lot of slop in mine if it had the multi link. I work the loader hard.

I hear you on the roll back angle. They specify a 55" carrying height, which can cause a pretty high center of gravity.

Haven't gotten the bucket dirty yet, but it seems to dump fast. I like the positive stop to bang the bucket against to dislodge stuck dirt. My NH bucket had no positive stop at all. All I could do was dangle it and wiggle it a bit, and hope something fell out.

Hope you got the rear's filled, Bob. If not, give it some thought. Good counterbalance for the loader, plus that'll make it pull like a demon for its size.

My L4300 is your L4400's pappy. Good little tractor, but lacks the 4400's nice 8x4 transmission.

The L4400 is a great choice and I think you did quite well on the price. With the dollar sinking, they're not going to get any cheaper.

I had filled tires in my 35hp NH tractor, and it was rock solid. When doing loader work, I always carry a disk harrow, and it really sunk in soft dirt. I'm going to try it first without loading the tires.

The tractor is not as "rough" as I first thought. The dealer where I first looked at the L4400 apparently keeps them on the lot for months, and the paint was dull and rust had set in. I got mine from another dealer, and it's shiny and new looking. Everything is smooth as silk, even though it's not broken in.

You might want to check your tires now. I was told that mine where not filled. So, I planned to fill them myself. When I unscrewed the valve I got quite a bath. They were filled afterall! I was glad they were filled, but not too happy about the bath.

Ok...so after your tire bath...what were they filled with? water....or slime
