Hello:

I've been looking at used L3400 tractors for a few weeks, and a rancher friend of mine told me to look at new ones due to the 0% financing available. He bought a new one last year and did a lot of shopping around, so he recommended a dealer that he said had rock-bottom pricing. I contacted the dealer and got the following quote:

Kubota L3400HST w/R4 Tires: $14,595.00
2 Rear Remote Valves: $ 1,021.00
Kubota LA463 Loader: $ 3,195.00
Canopy $ 350.00
Medium Duty 5' Box Blade: $ 661.00
Rhino 160 5' Shredder
w/ Slip Clutch $ 1,195.00

If you look at those prices, the tractor with FEL is $17,790. From the little bit of looking I've done on this site, that seems far from "rock-bottom" pricing. Am I correct? What did y'all pay for yours?

Thanks,

That price is higher than I paid.
The best price I found was at the dealership in Taylor Texas, just outside Austin.
If your not close enough to drive there, at least try calling them for a price.
It will give you a good idea of what to shoot for.

I got a quote w/ the loader for $15,500 about 3 mo ago on the FL panhandle. I think you can get a better deal.

2 months ago I went back to one of 3 Kubota dealerships nearby to relook on an L3400 w/fel. I asked about a front guard for the exposed tie rods. He said to me "First you buy the tractor, then we'll worry about the front guards" Ok I said, how much is the tractor with the front guards. "Will you buy it ?" he asked. Sure I said "if the price is right" He then asked "Well, what's your right price" I looked at the tractor and said, I think 17k is about right. He laughed and walked away. As he was walking he turned back and said, 'WHEN YOU WANT TO GIVE 19.5 WE'LL TALK" I hate this dealershp like I can't desribe. The other two are no better. As I said before, going to these dealerships makes me not want to buy another tractor. At this ponit I'd be ready to buy a tractor made by Prego Tomato Sauce if the dealership was one you could cope with.

The price seems a bit high but I have not really been checking on current prices. I looked at the kuboota website and what you have, L3400 hst, R4 tires, "lists" for $20,843... shoot maybe my tractor is increasing in value!?!

Make sure the dealer hooks up a boompole and hang a bucket of water from it... then slightly raise the 3ph... slowly... make sure you are happy with it.

We were able to watch as tractor prices went up this year at a near record rate of increases on all makes. What you might be able to find in depressed areas that are the hardest hit by current economics is year and two year old units that missed these price increases. Some manufacturers are even discounting them more to move them out of there systems. Good Luck!

You might want to read this before considering the L3400. I wish I would have done a little more research before buying mine. Your prices are a little high also.http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/131742-l2800-position-control-jerky.html

The older L2800's had a valve which caused the jerking up and down of the 3 point hitch. Mine is about two years old, has the new valve and has never given any trouble. Never heard of the L3400's being jerkey.

I paid 17.2k for mine 18 months ago. R4's, hst. and loader...no problems with the 3pt.

Good, solid tractor.

Thanks for all the replies! I've pretty much decided to keep looking for a deal on the slightly used tractor instead of new. I'm finding that slightly used ones are selling for well, well below new prices these days...
