Price Check Landpride FDR2572 Finish Mower

I have 10 acres closest to my house that I mower every week or two. Around the house, I've got a newer Toro Titan zero turn that I use because there are alot of trees (~4 acres). On the remaining 6 acres, I borrow the smallest tractor from the ranch with a 6 ft John Deere rotary cutter to mow the roadside and horse pastures. I only mow with the tractor once a month or so during the summer. Since this isn't a big priority to me I didn't feel like spending a lot of money on it. At the same time, I wanted to find something that would cut between the bush hog and the zero turn mower.

I could mow everything with my zero turn in probably the least amount of time but I'm trying to be a little easier on it to make it last longer. At the current rate, I've been wearing out belts every 60 hours from heavy use. I figured I could get a finish mower on the tractor that would plow through the taller grass in the pastures and save my zero turn. Also, the pastures are pretty wide open so the zero turn is at less of an advantage.

I've got a 1672 that I run behind a '67 MF135...40ish engine/35hp at the PTO...I bought it second hand with the tractor...built really strong..I cut about 3 acres with it...I understand that the belts are Kevlar. Great unit...I won't sell it...BobG in VA

Thanks Bob! The only difference I could see was the gear box. My local dealer had the 1672 and 2572 side by side.

Found a like-new FDR1660 on Craigslist. 'Druther have had a 72" but this one was so nice I couldn't pass it up.

Paint like new, not a speck of rust anywhere. I talked him down a little from his $1000 asking price as the tires were all dry rotted and cracked. We came to an agreement and he loaded it up on my trailer.

Mows nice! Best part is, you can get parts for it.

Wow man, that is a steal of a deal. I payed way too much for my FDR1660 but it cuts really well, not that I intend to use it as a bush hog but it mows grass that hasn't been touched in 7 years. I just cut high and then do a low pass.
