Short and sweet

These are from two different dealers

MX 5000, 4WD, R4's, $17,500 plus tax
M4800SU, 2WD, R1's, 13,500 plus tax

The MX 5000 is close to my property (within 40 miles)
The M 4800SU is from a dealer about 100 miles away.

Check out the specs between the two. I think the MX5000 has more pto hp than the 4800. The 4800 is an ag tractor the Mx is "utility" tractor. Depending on your use the the heavier frame 4800 might be the right choice. Also I talked to an owner of a 4800 and the hp can be increased to make it 54 hp.

Well, I liked the MX5000 also, but was having trouble justifying the cost based on my needs.

I ended up ordering an L3830 4WD w/R4's for $14,800.
Enough HP to swing the 6 foot Bush Hog Squealer and that fully synchronized transmission is incredible.

I'll take delivery in about a month when my barn is finished. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
