Price Check Price Check on a MX5000

I'm looking to buy a MX5000 with an LB702 FEL and R4 tires and wanted to know if anyone could fill me in on thier thoughts about this tractor and pricing please. I will be purchasing a 7 ft bush hog or woods mower for those 30-35 acrer jobs. I own the L3400 with LA463 FEL and really like the tractor, but I'm starting to do some field mowing part time and need to step up. I have been quoted $23000.00 and want to know if this is a good price in Colorado.

Not sure about the price but do you have any idea how long 30-35 acres are going to take you to cut with a 7 foot cutter? My guestimate would be 30 hours or more.

You may want to look at a larger setup and pull type cutter.

I should be able to cover 5 acres in 2 hrs with the type of field mowing I'm going to be doing. It takes me about 3.5 hrs to cut my 5 acres with my 5 ft mowing deck on my L3400 now. A 7ft should cut that down to 2 hrs for 5 acres.

With my L3400 I'm in 3rd gear in high and I cut about 5 acres in 3.5hrs. With the 7 fy cutter in a 50 hp tractor I should be able to cut in 2 hrs or less with 5 acres.

Ryan,

Using simple math and assuming you will be cutting at the same speed:
5ft/7ft X 3.5 hrs= 2.5hrs
The actual mowing time will be slightly less because there are less passes and so less total overlap mowing.
