Long time reader, first time poster. What a great site! Thanks everyone for all the advice!

Can someone possibly tell me what the following is worth?

2002 Kubota B2410 4wd
60" belly mower
Bi Speed Turn option
264 Hours (on tractor & mower)
brand new LA352 loader w/48" bucket (less than 20 hours)
brand new Woods 48" Rear blade (less than 20 hours)
Hybrid Tires (like cross between turf and ag)
Very clean

I just drove this machine (very nice). It's for sale locally by owner. He said he bought it last spring with 240 hours (second owner). He added a brand new loader & blade and has put very few hours on it. He said he is moving back to the city and has decided to sell the tractor.

He's asking $12,900 but said there is some room to negotiable.

I'm considering this or a brand new B7500 or Kioti CK20.

Is this a good deal on the 2410? It's likely a couple thousand more for the same setup with new B7500 or CK20 (after I add taxes, etc). It's a little more capable than the 7500 (weight, lift capacities) and also has more of the "deluxe" options.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

List price on a new 2410 HSD with 352 loader is $17600. A belly mower runs close to $2000. I don't know about the rear blade. So to buy this new would list for about 20 grand and probably could be found for around $18000. I think it is a pretty good buy. Out east here (if you can find them) that set up would probably be priced higher than 12900.

Try it on your lawn to see if it's too heavy to maintain the quality of lawn you're after. You might not be able to mow when it's still damp, or if you have soft soil you may get some tracks. It would be fine for me, but our lawn is more like pasture than a lawn.

That is a very good price. I came close to buying a 2410 last winter. It had 125 hours, loader and nothing else and it sold for $12K privately.

You have to evaluate the worth of the deluxe aspects for yourself. I decided they were over-priced for their worth, and the only one that really mattered to me to any great degree was position control. Even that would only pertain to 2% of my usage. The difference in capacities is something I spent too much time thinking about. The fact is that even a 7500 has more capacity than you will use with appropriately-sized implements.

You might try out the bi-speed turning on your lawn (or similar) to see if you'll be able to take advantage of it or not. Just because the tractor is capable of tighter turns doesn't mean it won't tear up the turf. In circumstances other than mowing, of course, it may be nice to have.

I'd also be mildly suspicious that you'd be the third owner in a couple of years. Minimally, I'd have it checked out by a local dealer.

I wouldn't rule out the new 7500 or CK20 quite yet.

I too was wondering if 3rd owner in such a short time is a big deal or not.

The local dealer of course is trying to sell me the new B7500. They are a VERY reputable and large Kub dealer, but I'm not sure how much incentive is there for them to give this machine a stellar review (if it is in fact in great mechanical condition) since it's likely to mean a lost sale for them. Of course they would still get the service/maintenance work.

On the plus side, this rig was actually purchased both previous times from this same local dealer, so I could probably get the total scoop.

Thanks.

My lawn is very much like yours.

Do you know much about these tires. I'm not sure what they actually call them. Basically turfs on the front and a turf with some traction bars on the rear (pretty wide too).

Thanks

They're probably bar turfs. More traction than a turf, softer composition than an industrial and not as aggressive as an ag tire. Some swear by them. Others swear at them. According to my dealer, they were very popular a few years ago. He still installs them on request (had one ready for delivery at the time of my order, in fact), but recommends industrials for most users on the basis of wear qualities.

How do the industrial tires handle on hills, in the woods and in somewhat soft muddy situations. I'm sure ags are best for these situations, but maybe too aggressive for mowing?

Thanks

That's a great price for that tractor if its in good shape. At least it would be in New England. In terms of the additional features, they are like many things in life. If you have them, you would never want to live without them. If you don't, you don't know the difference and think they are no big deal. IMO, it's a great deal. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

The price for the B-2410 is very reasonable. I agree with Mark, you should check it out on your lawn and see if mowing with it is feasible. I bought mine last year for $13,300 ( 87 hrs.), the only difference was it had a 60" Woods back blade. I did find out that it is too heavy for my lawn. I'm not sorry I bought this rig, I have gotten a great deal of use from it already, but I now have a 60" MMM sitting in the garage! Any reasonable offers???
Good luck on your decision.. I don't think you can go wrong with either the 7500 or the B 2410.
