Yea i went with the JD insurance. My insurance company (allstate) couldnt come close to their rates.

My dealer had about 12 5203 MFWD w/ FEL on the lot. Seems like they were trying to move them out to make way for the new models.

The 0% financing/0 down is a great deal. Use JD's money and keep your in the bank.

I have 50 acres and will be discing, mowing, cutting and baling hay. I've tinkered with plant some corn in a 12 acre plot i have...but would have to get one of those new idea 2 row corn pickers to harvest and shell the corn. Those seem hard to come by down here in Texas. But with the price of corn this week$5.60/bu it will cover all my fuel expense for the year tending to the cows.

Gotta try and make money where ever we can and mother nature aint making no more land so keep what ya got and try to get more.

Congrats on the new tractors!

Too bad you couldn't make due with a 5' bush hog. I would have let mine go for $500 ~ $700. The 5' is too small for the 5425 and with the 8' Bush-Whacker... well, the Bush Hog is just collecting dust.

Now the disc... I think I'll keep it.

I can't find another like it anymore.

When do we get to see pictures of the new beast?

well i have a 5' John Deere 205 that's in good shape. it'd last someone for a long time to come if they took care of it like i did(kept it under a shed and cleaned all the debris off of it after every use). what kind do you have? i bought a 5203 MFWD, so i know the 5' would get abused behind that tractor, so i went ahead and got a MX6. figured i might stick the 5' in the trader or something. just dunno what it'd be worth. maybe $400-500? for now i am going to keep my disk as its one of the besr built i have ever seen. might change my mind in a year or so, but now that i have alot more tractor then i used to have, who knows, that new tractor might make child's play out of that disk. we'll find out tomorrow when i set the gangs as aggresive as they go(never been able to do that before), and drop into a previously plowed, sandy soiled fire break. that'll be the tell tale story of just how much tractor i bought. he did say that if it wasnt enough, call him and hed bring out a 5303 and take the 5203 back no questions asked. he wouldnt/didnt fill my tires because he said they only did that when you added a loader. i didnt get one, but have all the hookup for one and will get one someday. just hope i have enough traction since i wont have any fluid in the tires or rear wheel weights. he didnt even advise me to get any front weights, said i wouldn't need any since it's MFWD. guess the MX6 wont make it light in the front end, i hope not anyways. he's supposed to come pick my tractor up in the morning and drop mine off, so i will take some pics and post them. i took my tractor out one last time and gave it a good workout before it's send off tomorrow

i'm acctually going to miss it...but maybe not too much after my other one gets here!
