I'm looking at a 3030 with LA402 FEL. I got a quote for $17,750 from Arroway in Katonah NY, which compared to $19k from Westco in Norwalk CT. The salespeople seemed knowledgable and friendly. The facilities aren't fancy but inventory seemed good. Any input on prices and the dealer would be really appreciated.

On a related matter, is it worth $1,500 to upgrade from the 7800 to the 3030?

I have a B2910. Which is the B3030 replaces. I paid the extra for the premium features because:

1. I have had tractors with 3PH that did not have the added features of the B2910/B3030. They were a pain to put 3PH attachments on. Pin type anti-sway is so much easier to adjust.

2. Seat is more comfortable with arm rest and spring suspension.

3. Tilt and extend-able steering wheel make driving more comfortable.

4. Cruise control is great for doing long runs. Like Bush Hogging and Rototilling.

5. 3PH position control makes doing landscape projects much easier. Attachment will return to the same position after raising and lowering. Making small adjustments are very precise compared to the B7800's 1/4" valve.

If you have not owned a tractor before. Go to a dealer and try them out with 3PH attachments. Try installing a 3PH attachment on both models. Then you will see why some TBNer's have replaced their lower links and sway chains for the ones on a B2910/B3030.

List price for a B3030/FEL is about $20117.
B3030 gets a LA403 FEL.

There are pros cons to buying within and out of state.

In my opinion, it's a no brainer. In order of importance (to me anyway)...

3ph true position control vs. simple up/down
independant PTO (no clutch pedal) vs. live
telescoping 3ph arms cuts attachment time in half
23 PTO hp vs. 22
8.1 gallon fuel tank vs. 6.9
folding ROPS (may be standard on 7800 now)
better hydro pedal
sloped head and FEL (LA403)
tilt steering wheel
better seat
nicer fenders, deck, instrumentation
cupholder and small toolbox
3ph ratchet lift rod
cruise control

A major benefit IMO of going w/the B3030 is the availability of a frame mounted backhoe (BH-75) vs. a 3-pt hoe for the B7800. That was the deciding factor for me when I was looking at the same machines. I was told by my dealer that there will NOT be a frame mounted kit (Kubota) for the 7800 for at least a year-if ever. I really am impressed w/my 3030!..no regrets in not going w/the 7800!
Also, all the B3030's I've seen ALL had the LA-403 loader, NOT the 402...might want to check that out.

Thanks for the input. You're correct, the 3030 has the 403, the 7800 has the 402 - my mistake. Any views on the dealer?
