Price Check Price for TC40D MMM

Hello again,

I'm just starting the pricing/negotiations for a new TC40D. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The dealer quoted me ~$4000 for 914A 84" MMM and adding the mid pto.

Does that sound a little high. I had in my mind about $3000-$3500. Don't know why, just did.

Here is one on eBay right now - only $500 at the moment.

Thats not big enough for a TC40. By the time your dealer figures cost and time to install your mower and mid pto he is right at cost That mower is kind of pricey but it is also larger than other and does a nice job!

It would be a bit too small for that 40HP tractor. Another thing is are the mounting brackets the right brackets for the TC40D. I ordered the 72"MMM (914A) for my TC29D and they had to re-order the right brackets as the right ones did not come with it. So I would caution that. And how used is that mower. Three new blades, and was the bearings ever greased, especially them wheels, they like to go out if not greased.

But as Spencer said the price seems to be right in line. I paid approx 2,350.00 for the 72" brand new but my tractor already had the mid PTO on it.

Thats in the ball park I paid for mine on my 35D.
The dealer had it on when I demo'd it and u couldn't lock it up to use 3 PT.
After ordering another mounting kit ( different w/ R-4 tires) I bought the tractor and after delivery the mower still hit the tires when locked up.
After they made some calls to NH and another mount kit it STILL hit tires.
I started measuring deck mounts and found it was fabbed up over 1/2" different side-to-side.
So they put new deck on it and problem solved.
It is a FINE mowing machine and the SS is really nice.
I'd try to get another set of gator blades thrown in after u get their best price to 'seal the deal'.
I've stated how I found to mount and dismount the 84" mower on other posts (took off in a hair over 3 minutes the other day and later found out that I had 4 dislocated ribs and one broken rib from a 'rock climbing accident' 4 days earlier) if u can't find it let me now and i'll tell how.


Spencer 200 what do the gator blades cost new BTW?
