Wife went to grocery staore today came back saying the price of coffee Folgers is over $10.00 a container. Didn't buy any at this price.
Since I don't normally drink Cola or soda pop Looks like water and ice tea will become my new normal drink.
Have drank coffee for excess of 70 years sure wouldn't want to change. So what brand are you purchasing and how strong.

Yea. Ever since Sams Club went up on their maxwell house can by about 3 dollars, we look for the sales at the grocery stores and stock up. Don't know of a substitute for coffee.

I am an admitted coffee snob. Don't drink much else, beside ice water. So, only the best will do. Costco has a house blend that is very good. World Coffee? Cannot remember the name of it. We also get BiggBy at Costco. I believe Paramount coffee is the roaster for them. Think BibbBy is a local thing, but it is wonderful. There is also a boutique roaster in Champaign, IL called Columbia Street Roastery. The BEST!!! Prices are high.

I'll pay whatever it takes to get great coffee. Almost.

I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 24 years old, and then a year later I married a gal who sips coffee from the time she gets up in the morning until she goes to bed at night. She did that when I met her and now 47 years later, she still does. I drink coffee all morning, then change to cold drinks after noon. So we use quite a bit of coffee, but we're not as particular as lots of folks, so we buy cheap coffee.:D For awhile Walmart had Maxwell House for $5, but then it went up, so this past week, I bought four 33 oz. cans of Master Chef coffee at Walmart for $5.28 a can.

I think it's called Bigby. It was under another name, "Beaners", but they changed it for PR reasons. Very good coffee.

I'm with bp on this one - I won't drink ...... some fakakta pizz water swill ...... that's attempting to pass itself off as ..... coffee ....

I like good coffee .... and like it strong enough to use as a heavy-duty degreaser or paint remover ....

When I'm out on the road, driving, it's generally a Starbucks triple or quad venti White Chocolate Mocha, with whole milk and no whip ..... usually a couple or three of those per day will get me wherever I need to go .... (the Columbian - my friend's wife - got me started on the cafe-con-leche thing .... so the White Chocolate Mocha's were a natural fit :D)

At home, before the kids got us a Keurig "Special Edition" Brewing System this last Christmas ....

KRG-LG-B60.jpg

.... it was almost always Starbuck's French Roast, done in a Krups Il Caffee Duomo ... although the wife would occasionally grab some other strong, dark blend (Expresso, Italian, or Pike's Place Roasts) from Starbucks for a little variety.

Now with the Keurig, the kid picks us up a large box of Caribou Coffee's "Caribou Blend" at Costco in the Keurig "K-cups", which is pretty good.

We've also filled in (when we run out of the Caribou) with Newman's Own Special Blend - Extra Bold, which is very good. Also have had some Tully's .... which as I recall wasn't too bad (although I don't recall which blend it was specifically .....) Don't care for Green Mountain Coffee's Nantucket Blend.

I used to drink several (2 to 3) pots of (crap) coffee per day ..... now I'm down to 2 to 3 cups of good coffee per day .... and I think, enjoying it more.

We take our coffee hard time, I have a bunn commercial maker, with a grinder that holds 9 pounds of beans. We buy our beans at the Grocery Outlet about 30 miles away, 8.99 for 2 lbs, right now, Mix the french roast with the colubian whole beans 50 50 into the big grinder, and it works for us.
