Price of pull type disc

So I found Athens plow company and seen a pull type disc 1646lbs giving 82lbs per disc. I have a ct4045 bobcat that’s 45hp and it’s rated for it but I was surprised how much heavier per disc this is than the normal 35-40lbs per disc I see. However I seen this one used going for over $5,000. Are they really this expensive? Is finding one at $2,000 impossible?

You may be able to pull it. I have pulled an Atlas 1500 series disc (1850# 20x22x9) with a MX5100 HST with no problem.
I see them listed new for around 3K

Atlas also offers a 1500 series in 16x22x9 @ 1605#

Pulled disks do not transfer weight to the tractor like a TPH Disk Harrow, therefore tractor traction is reduced. Pulled discs are not supported by the tractor, all the Disk Harrow weight bears on the soil, therefore pulled Disks penetrate deeper, increasing draft force resistance.

By TPH you mean a disc barrow that’s connected to the 3 point hitch? And it is harder on the tractor to pull a disc on wheels that’s hooked up on hydraulics?

I agree the tractor engine is enough. BUT traction will not let you run it very deep.

Researching on Athen's web site, their Model 62 pull-type wheeled disk with hydraulic lift, 1,642 pounds in 7'-11" width, has a tractor power suggestion of 40 to 80 horsepower.

Do you have a pair of rear hydraulic remotes to pump Disk hydraulic lift?

Athens thinks you can pull it.

I am skeptical unless your rear tires are liquid filled, then maybe.

No. Because the wheels allow you to vary pan contact with the soil, in fact you can raise all the Disk pans free from soil contact.

Yes the model I got came standard with rear remote.
I reread your first post and see what your saying. On a disc that’s on the 3 point the tractor tires are pulled more into the ground making more traction. On a hydraulic disc with wheels the weight isn’t on the 3 point which isn’t pulling the tractor tires down so it’s less traction.
You think it would slip pulling that much weight? When the wheels go up for in use the weight would still pull down on the rear wheels same as if it was on the 3 point wouldn’t it, or no?

LMC has a 1285lb that’s 3 point with 16 pans that’s 80lbs per pan. On the specs it says the ct4045 has a rear lift of 2716.

If your Tires loaded and/or you have wheel weights, I think you will have a good chance of pulling it.

I’ve 700lbs of fluid in the tires. I didn’t get wheel weights. Just fluid.

If it's the same LMC near me, I wonder if they actually have one ? They are about 1.5 hours from me.
I was up there about a month ago and they hardly had anything in stock.
