I'm always looking at ebay and craigslist if for nothing else curious. Noticed last week saw a B7300 (model I have) sold on ebay for 4000. Had a bellymower and 900 hours. I acutally threw a bid at 3700 but got distracted by the kids or may have another tractor. Guy had a video of it and started nice, no smoke etc.

Yesterday noticed a BX1850 with 400 hours sold for 5500. Little closer to normal but I've seen these go for closer to 6500.

Don't know if this is just an anomaly or a trend. Could be the fact its the dead of winter and many not worrying about cutting grass etc.

Some of the sales may be because of the high unemployment rate and mortgage foreclosures. Probably be a good time to pickup a nice tractor, Boat or a summer home in Florida. Ken Sweet

I would say auction prices are high at the moment even collective junk sales are matching dealer prices on both sides of the border .

I don't know anything about a B7300 course 900 hours to me is to many but I'm like that.
The 50 series can not be used to judge anything other than the 50 series. More people are probably becoming aware of the abrupt reverse stop of the 50 series so I predict that they will always be low and as more people become aware go even lower. They are great tractors other than the "issue" and some people don't like the plastic parts which didn't bother me in the short time I owned a 50 series.
Course two sales or offers in winter do not a trend make. Twenty sales at any time can indicate a trend and even that can be regional. Also, as long as tractor dealers are offering 0% financing, the used equipment has a few thousand dollars less value.

Ebay prices fetched are always a bit odd. There's a limited number of folks who will buy a tractor sight unseen. This lowers the net a bit for the seller, imho. Plus, there is the whole distance thing. An Ebay buyer, if he is coming from any distance, is computing his travel/fuel/trailer costs into his bid.

I expect Ebay sales to be lower.

I do as well but these were lower than what I have seen lately.

there a lot of scams too the saying goes ....too good to be true

Both these tractors were from a dealer that does quite a few sales on ebay and have a good rating. Always a video of the tractor etc.

There are those who say the US economy is not in recovery mode yet and in a number of areas - predicted to get worse before it gets better. The housing market is still in the dumper and getting worse. That said, I can't specifically comment on used tractor prices, however, I do know there are some smoking deals to be had on used boats - particularly in some of the NE States.

I bought on e-bay, Be very careful, and leave no stone unturned. Ask for any doubtful areas to be photographed. Talk to the seller on the phone. The ebay seller past sales can be altered, not everyone is totally honest on ebay and surely not on craigslist.Figure in your delivery cost. 2 cents, keep your eyes wideopen. Jy.

The prices almost seem unreal right now. :confused2: I saw a Yanmar 1610 for $2000 on craigslist. For a tractor like this in this condition they usually run a little higher. Yeah, its beat up but how many oregonians are going to worry about looks if they are just going to use it to mow their back field 3 times a year?
