Adding up your prices (before taxes & discount) for tractor, tires, QA loader, and bucket is about $31k -- that's MSRP for that setup. I'd be dickering for a better discount than 12%, and calling around to other dealers for their best price, especially if this is a cash deal without NH financing.

I bought a similar t2310 in August (last year's model, rebadged to 3040 this year), and the price was $23k (before taxes & discount) -- $8k seems a steep upcharge for 5HP and this year's white lettering. Maybe you can find a dealer sitting on a t2310 or t2320, that they'll let go for a discount on last year's prices.

In September I added three rear remotes to my 3040, the price for each of the three kits was slightly different, but the total was right at $1500 (before tax and discount). I didn't bother to ask the price of dealer installation, as it was only about two hours of work to do it myself.

I never had any intention of paying the price he quoted. I'll keep shopping. After reading some old posts on here I also better understand the difference between the 3040 and 3045 now and just might go with the 3040.
Thanks for the info.

If you are not getting a cab with air conditioning and don't need the extra PTO hp, the 3040 is every bit as much tractor as the 3045, but much cheaper. It sounds to me like you are doing all the right things with your research and making the best decisions.

I agree completely! Asking questions about pricing is a very good idea since there may be a big difference in price between dealers for the same machine. There can also be a significant difference in price for the same machine but the previous year model eg: T2310 vs 3040.

When I bought the T2310 I didn't know what to expect as to power and capability. Suffice it to say that the 40hp diesel is way more powerful than I would have thought. I've been digging the roots, pushing over, stacking, and pushing stacks of 50-60 trees on my property not to mention digging and grading with the FEL. Surprisingly, I've never been able to test the limit of the engine with all this, at most it simply drops a couple of hundred rpms and does the task. I just calculated the fuel usage for the first 40 hours of use and it is .52 gallon per hour. Really, a very difficult to match combination of power and economy in this machine.:)
