All,
I'm looking at a B2400 with an almost unbelievable 120 hrs. on the hobbs meter. The dealer has it in their shop right now getting some expensive parts replaced around the 3pt. hitch lift levers piston housing. The former owner backed into a tree and popped the piston right through the housing. Ouch. This tractor is a trade-in and the dealer is replacing a lot of parts. It will be sold with a 30 day warranty for an asking price of $9200. comes with a LA352 FEL but no mower. It appears to have been sitting outside since day 1, but closer inspection tells me that it should clean up and buff out pretty well. Also has a toothbar with the loader. I have to assume all the little things the dealer pointed out was wrong with it will be replaced since there is a short warranty with it. Does this seem like a good price for the tractor? I will have to add a mower to it.
Thanks. Jeff

Jeff the price sounds pretty good to me but 30 days is a pretty short for a warranty. Does the dealer offer an extended warranty? If he does, get the price and tell the dealer you will split the cost if he won't include it in the price. Steve...

Don't assume anything...make sure and get it in writing!

As far as the length of warranty, I think you'll find that 30 days pretty common for used equipment. As long as you're satisfied the tractor is good, mechanically, I wouldn't be too concerned.

But, if there are any things you want repaired, have it done before you take delivery.

I agree with the comment to get additional warranty at some cost. The problem with a used tractor is that you may not get it to do all the different tasks until you get to use it for a while.

If there is no more warranty available, I would suggest that you take it home and use it continously for at least 4-6 hours, in moderate load. Probably in 4x4, low gear and lifting a load with the FEL. You want to heat up the hydraulic and make sure there are no leaks...
