Price Check Price on Yanmar 240d ?

I'm in the process of buying an acerage, and the owner is willing to sell his late 70 early 80 yanmar 240d with 800/1800h on the tractor. The hour gage only goes to 999h, therefore no idea how many times it cranked over. Tiller, RMM included. Any ideas? Please ...?

It's hard to price these since few sell. Here are some more or less 'comparables'.

A 2 wd YM240 sold recently on ebay for $3550:

That listing will disappear eventually so here's a description:
Clean, probably garaged since new. 880 hours showing (1,880??)
2 wheel drive bare tractor, no loader or implements. It's revision level 4, the final version, shown by external air cleaner. That would make it maybe 1981-82??? I wish my YM240 was clean like that!

Previously in the past 6 months two 2wd's with loaders went through ebay. The first went for about $5,500. The second looked thrashed and repainted etc and closed around $3,500. I paid slightly more than that for mine locally, loader included, good mechanical condition but stored outdoors 20+ years and looked it.

Maybe someone else can say what the additional would be for 4wd compared to these 'comparables'. I expect your 4wd YM240D should be over $5,000 plus more for the implements.

You probably know these are the US market version of YM2000 (D) and a ton of those have been imported in 'new-rebuilt' condition in the past ten years. It should be easy to find internet prices for those, as near-comparables.

I recently purchased a YM240 (2 wheel drive version). Odometer showed 024, but is more like 1024 or 2024. Tractor was not garage kept. Needs a little TLC, but runs great. No attachments with it....I paid 1,800.00 for it. Hope this helps.

I purchased a 220d with 480 hours on it 2 years ago. Paint was original and in excellent shape, it was a local unit and I bought it from the second owner who put about 50 hours on it, I was able to track it back to first owner and the dealer who sold it, confirming hours etc... With the tractor I got a King Kutter brush cutter, 5' wood finish mower, grader blade and rear scoop. I paid $5,000 and love it!

I paid 5500 for a 240D 4wd with bucket and backhoe. Needed paint and hydraulic leaks other wise OK. Has a cab also

I have a 240D Yanmar Tractor that I wish to sell It is 4X4 with bucket. I also have a bushhog, posthole digger, plow ,disc, cultivators and wood splitter to go with it . equipment is old but works. I need to get an idea of what to ask for all. any ideas?

I think you will have to split up the set to unload all of it. At $4500 the Yanmar should sell pretty quick. Ask another thousand if you aren't in a hurry. These are still best-in-class for what they are.

Craigslist should have comparables for the implements.

I think prices vary by region. I bought a 276D/loader 4 years ago for $6K. It had 900 hrs. It was a decent deal for around here. (W.MA.)
