I am tractor shopping and though I am a John Deere man at heart I am giving all brands a chance. I am trying to take advantage of the financing plans a few of the manufacturers have going. The Deere models I am interested in are the 4310 4WD with eSync Reverser, 430 FEL and R4s. My best price for my first day was $17327.40 including 2% tax. My next model is the JD990 (Yes I realize there is a night and day difference in the two). 4WD, R4s, 430 loader tax and all $17,975.35. What do you think? Are they high, low, about average? I actually thought they were fairly reasonable.

OK, if we buy you a mini excavator or something, will you join our 4310 club?

Your prices seem OK., about what I paid for the same except I got R1s and HST (so yours are reasonably higher)

Did you know the 990 isn't the same?

I was talking with my wife and told her I could buy a mini excavator for the same or less as a backhoe attachment. I know an exporter that has small Kubota and Komatsu excavators that could be had for less money than a JD hoe.

I would say your pricing is in line but could be better.
You could probably get the hydro tranny model at my dealer for about that price...Kyle

Ouch, I just got a price quote from a JD dealership here in New Hampshire on a 4310. They quoted me $19,750 for a 4310, e-hydro, R4's (no attachments or loader). That is outrageous. I currently own (paid off) a 790 with a backhoe and I'm thinking about trading it in for a 4310 with a 48 hoe. Don't think I will be doing that. Didn't want to finance much $. He is figuring out the difference and will get back to me soon. What do you folks think? I was hoping to finance no more than 6k. It sounds like it will be in the 10k arena.

I ended up paying just under $17K for the 4310 with powr reverser and 430 loader with the heavy duty bucket. You price sounds really high.

Ive dealt w/ these guys and they dont come off their quote. When I asked about it they said out right that either I take their price or nothing at all. Early on in my tractor search I figured Id just get a Deere. Wel...between no call backs and unwillingness to deal I went else where. I was looking at the 4115 and liked it just fine. In the end though I just couldnt see spending that much when I could get at least that much tractor for less somewhere else. BTW their quote was $27K for a 4115, loader, backhoe, (Wallenstein) and rear mount finish mower.

Scott, you could save a bunch if you could pick one up down here. Try shopping around some more. Sometimes all the local dealerships in an area are owned by the same entity...Kyle
Heres a rough price
4310, ehydro, 430FEL, R4's about $17500 to 18K plus or minus for options.

There is no way I will pay that much for the 4310. I will just keep what I have. I even stated to the sales guy I am on a JD internet forum and there were quotes for that machine less than 17k. I bet he still will not budge. Oh well, they will not get my business. I am thinking I will try Mass or Maine and see what some of their JD dealers are like. I would like to stay with JD though. I like the product and service.

I can not believe they quoted you 27k for a 4115 with attachments. I bet it is the same dealer I am working with.

Question: If I purchase a JD out of state and say something needs to be replaced under warranty....will my local New Hampshire JD dealer do the fix for me or will I have to bring it back to the state I purchased it in? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
