I asked the dealer what it would cost to install a hydralic remote on the rear of my B7610. He said it would cost $700 installed. Does this sound right? This is something that I could install myself. Can I buy the kit anywhere else cheaper? He said that the kit alone was $600. I have a FEL already. Does this complicate or simplify the situation?

The B7333 valve kit with hoses retails for $600. You can get it either from your dealer or Tractorsmart.com.

This is a single remote setup. $100 for installation is not unreasonable for a 1-2 hour job.

Having a FEL means you do not have to purchase the hydraulic outlet block that the FEL normally connects to.

Mad answered your question, now I will throw something out for you to consider.

Factory remotes seem to be a fair bit more expensive than what you might do on your own, if you were so inclined to put a system together from parts you bought yourself from various vendors.

The biggest shortcoming of a homebrew setup though is that it will not likely be as "clean and neat looking" as a factory kit would be. So you save money, but the net result is not as "perfect" as some factory installations.

I think many here at TBN have installed multiple rear remotes for not much more than the factor kit costs for one remote. Myself, I am in the SLOW process of putting together a homebrew T&T. In my case, it should come in costing under $1,100, but that will be for four rear remotes (three with built in pilot operated check valves, and one with float), and includes the cost of one top and two tilt cylinders, plus all hoses, fittings and quick disconnects.

I am just throwin this out as something that might be considered. Putting together a homebrew system of remotes is not for everyone. It can be a fun project but it could be frustrating too, if things don't go right...for whatever reason...

Does anyone know what a non-Kubota system would do to the warranty?

I can't imagine that a home brew would void the warranty unless you really screwed something up and that caused damage to say the pump. Check with your dealer to be sure.

I had the factory set up installed as part of the deal. When I got it thought I wouldn't care for the placement and mounting bracket but have become quite used to it.

If you have the wear-with-all I'd go home grown as I have only one spool and now wished I had more even though I don't forsee going with tilt have other projects in mind and getting another spool from the factory is going to be more expensive so I'm probably going to put a 2 spool loader valve I have for the rear and move the oem valve upstream for a front remote.

Here is the post if you want to see what the factory setup looks like Post

Kevin

$260 from tractorsmart.com bought all the parts needed to add a rear hydraulic port to my BX1500. Note: Does NOT include any valve(s), just the ports (via Kubota quick connects). I need the rear ports to hook up my "soon to be new toy" Woods BH6000 backhoe.

drzmatt -

I had the dealer add "rear hydraulics" when I bought my B7610 - but he never mentioned a "factory option". They simply mounted a valve on the right rear fender an plumbed it in. Here's what it looks like:

Since it wasn't the *factory* option - it only cost $400 - and the dealer installed it free of charge along with the normal dealer prep before delivery.

Hope that helps,

Dan

Very much on the expensive side for a non-factory single spool valve with hoses and fittings and QD's (not shown but I asume they are mounted on the back). No wonder he installed it for free /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.

I don't see the return to tank hose. Is it hidden in the picture?

Exactly what did you get then for $260? A couple of hoses, a couple of QD's, a couple of fittings and maybe a bracket? If that's all then it is less than $100 retail from any hydraulic supply house. Kubota makes nothing special so what they are selling is off the shelf stuff.

Guys, Don't beat me up too bad here, cause' I'm on a tractor learning curve...

What are you using the remote hydraulics for? PH digger, mowers etc? I thought these units came with the necessary connections to run all these attachments. If not, I really need to consider this issue when I make my purchase, new OR used. I will eventually need a BH (after I buy a friggn' tractor) and I assumed that it was self contained and ran off a PTO. If these remote hydraulics are so expensive, either dealer installed when new or aftermarket, it really is a big issue...
