BEWARE! Traction with R4's is very limited. On slopes, I wouldn't consider them. You may get the ride of a lifetime! Don't commit yourself till you try them, and if the soil or grass is wet, they are worthless for traction. Good luck!

My R4's are very stable to be honest. I have used them in snow and mud with no problems. I think your dealer may get a better deal on woods stuff it sounds like to me. Anyway you can't make a bad decision. Both are good and will do the job. Have fun with your new tractor.

What thumb is the dealer talking about for the BH90?

I have been doing some research on back-hoes, hoping to have money this spring. I really like the Woods, also you can get a hydraulic thumb for it.

I was in Portland a few weeks ago and swung into a Kubota dealer who said Woods was crap and 'may' void the warranty.

I found a dealer (green type) 60 miles away with Woods equipment, I am impressed I think it is very nice and very well built.

I think the warranty thing is just a total scare tactic, also do a search is it not the BH90 that has had several dipper stick failures? Or is it the other Kubota back hoe?

It the other model BH75. BH90 is fine.

Both Kubota and Woods are good products, however, the Kubota FEL and BH will probably have a better resale value. Many people prefer all the attachements from the tractor manufacturer.....it's a perception thing

True enough I guess. However, unlike cars, I wonder how just many new tractor buyers are that concerned about resale value. I'm buying a pretty nice one that I expect to use for 10-15 years. If I do ever part with it, it will likely be old enough that the brand of BH won't make any difference.

What make the woods Back Hoe soooo much better then the Kubota? I've had a 3130 w 723 loader an BH90 bh for 3 years and 400 hours with zero problems !!!
