What are the symptoms of the non-functioning hyd engaged pto? Do other hyd's function correctly? Has anyone checked pto operating pressure?

Was mowing a small property that I have been taking care of for a couple of yrs. On my sixth round noticed difference in engine sound and my mower was barely turning lifted the mower and speed picked up again. Dropped a gear and finished that round back to my truck to take a break disengaged mower to let all cool some - 20 min or so - tried again and there was no resistance like normal engaging the hyd to engage clutch mower just barely begins to turn and then picks up

How long since hyd filter was changed & suction screen(item 30) checked/cleaned? I suggest to remove cowling the gearshift levers protrude through & attach 300 psi gauge(item 5) to check pto clutch pressure. Pressure should be 155-165 psi.

Sounds reasonable. I really like this old tractor and would like to see it repaired and not just go for parts or salvage. It has lots of life yet but also don’t want to spend a lot as it’s not rare or very collectible
I’ve also seen them on tractorhouse in terrible condition and some in great condition w/gel for several $
Have spent lots of hours on this old girl the last 19 years😊

I agree on straightening out the canopy. See if you can get a written estimate on the repairs. Looks like you can repair it from the top - no need to split. It woud still make a dandy tractor for pulling wagons, raking hay, ground engaging equipment, etc. I would try to sell it for $5,000ish?

Nice that you have permission to upgrade.

Checking the hydraulic filter is good advice. I had a Yanmar that would barely move, starting with the FEL, then got worse. Cleaned out the filter and it worked better than when I had bought it.

Why don't you answer Tx Jim's questions and follow his advice? He knows what he is talking about. To me that tractor looks worth holding on to.
