As for tires - it is critical to have the correct ratio of rolling diameter between front and back tires so this limits what size tires you can use. I think those brochures referenced from my sig show the original tire sizes. I I wouldn't vary from those sizes.

Regarding the rear tires being turf. I have a 2000 with rice tires on the rear. I'll trade with you. You pay the freight to me and I'll pay freight to you. We can swap rims and tires. What you think?

What do the "rice" tires look like exactly? I thought I knew what they were, but now I am second guessing myself. Here is the tread pattern that I would like to see in a 11.2-24 (far right tire):

What I thought the "ricers" were is the ag tires in this pic.

Here is the best I can do on pics. These are 9.5/24 Bridgestones. I will say every bit of 75% tread. They are the same as the A.g your showing

Thanks for the info, it was a good read. I didn't know anything about any of this TS stuff. How do I tell if mine has the self-fueling model? It has a cup on it. And, if the TS element is working ok? If the lights dim a bit as I run the TS, it means its working? Thanks.

Thanks Carey, but I am going to have to pass. Between the turfs and ags, I'd rather have the turfs and just put chains on in the winter. I love seeing everyone's pictures of their work-horses working! Take care.

If it's all original, the reservoir has a little cap for filling it. If it was upgraded, probably not likely, then the top of the reservoir is sealed and the hose which returns excess fuel from the injectors goes through the reservoir before reaching the top of the fuel tank.

You can feel slight warmth at the manifold if it is working. The real test is to take the top off the air cleaner like in my photos and watch the flame. The first poof when it fires off makes a flame higher than the air cleaner - don't singe your eyebrows!
