Hello, sorta been lurking for the last few months and have learned quite a bit of the knowledge shared here. I'm ready to buy, and unfortunately, its much like going to a car dealership and trying to get a reasonable deal without getting the (pto) shaft.

I'm doing about 12-14 acres of unimproved pasture and meadow with hills in the mix and already have a 5' sq600 cutter.

I'd really like a hydro. So far, its a toss up between the tc30 and MF1528. Promotions on both are pretty nice. Mainly just want the tractor, financially, other implements will come later.

How can I go about finding whats a good 'new' price on these machines without having to give the salesman an extra free trip to Disneyland. Average phone quotes on a tc30 is $13,000 and on the MF1528, $12,000.

I guess the next step would be to visit the dealers. Tell each of them you have narrowed it down to the two tractors. Each dealer then has to go into a sales mode and tell you why their tractor is better. And along with that you will start to see the prices drop. And I think the 1,000.00 difference you now see will drop down to about 500.00 difference and maybe even less. As you get to know these dealers you will start to become comfortable with one. Once you get comfortable with one then that is the one to buy. If the difference is $500 then to me over the life of the tractor the money would not be a deciding factor. Dealer support to me is well worth the $500.00 Take your time and have fun buying.

I just bought one in Greenville Texas for $9500 cash and had them throw in the front hydraulics. Great place to do business with as well.

$9500.00?
I've finally got some office time in at a couple of NH dealers and working on trying to get down to $12,000 just for the tractor...(hydro). With 3k down, financing on just 9,000 would roughly be at 162.00 a month for 60months at the 2.9 promo rate. Add 5.00 a month for the 3.9 rate which the MF dealer is offering
A quoted 'standard tran' tc30 with FEL was 14,800.

Interestingly, I have yet to see price stickers on tractors. I have no clue what the dealer might have paid for it and what would be fair market value and what the actual fair profit would be. What the dealer may sell a new tractor 'for' to one customer may be bought at a substantial price difference to another customer. (same mode, same 1/10hour, same everything).

$9500 sounds like a 2wd gear drive version of the TC30. The hydro is avialable only in 4wd unless a dealer has a old one laying around when they offered them in two wheel or 4 wheel with the hydro trans.

That is correct....Most of the 2wd's gears are quoted at 10K.
11,9K for the 4wd gear and 13,2K for hydro.
